how much farther can joO goo?

regular sedans r pretty high away from obstacles.

I could probably go at least another inch. That inch has been the difference between buying a new bumper or just scrapping the bottom of the bumper.

I got the rears set as low as possible. When I installed the struts I lowered them as far as I could. At the time my tires were just about bald. So about a week later I went to get new rubber. Got the tires mounted and left the tire shop - No Problems. Again, I pick-up some passengers and the additional weight lowered the car enough that the new tires began rubbing on the strut adjustment nut. Smoke billowing out both rear fender wells. The 1/4 inch of new tread made the difference between rubbing and not rubbing. Ruined two new tires that same day. The tire shop took full responsibility and adjusted the struts and replaced the tires for free.

hey super street, i want to see your car. also, isnt it kinda weird to still have a smic with all the work you have done?

which strut adjustment nut??? i cud swallow my tires and prolly a lil bit of rim if i wantd to at the rear. it has about 2.5-3 inches left. i kinda think they gave me the wrong damper upfront when i got them rebuilt, but there several others that r maxd out about where im at.

cant the get front pretty low w/o flirting with the bumpstops.

I'll be showing at the Colordao Mazda Club B-day Bash next weekend. Its a must meet/show for all Mazda owners in Colorado.(yippy) The upgraded smic was one of the first performance mods I did. Never thought I'd take the car this far at the time. I tried to compensate with the intercooler sprayer. If I go to a bigger turbo, I'll definately move up to a FMIC.

not talkn trash or nothing just noticing...but does anybody else think that that strut bar hes got looks like one of those bathroom rails for the handicapped?

hahahaha (thumb)

actually, if you want to get technical, you can blame mazda for it, it's from their 'competition' lineup of FIA group-a parts, pre-mazdaspeed goodness.

and yes, i agree, the cusco is going in shortly (we'll see how much an adjustable bar helps, or hurts, for that matter....)

thanks for the love. (rockon)

Could I enter something like this ?

From what I understand and have experienced from front strut tower bars is that you want the sturdiest, stiffest piece possible which is what that thing looks like. d

Also from my experience, anything that is 'adjustable' is going to hinder more than help. The pieces that adjust are places where the bar can flex and thus not be as stiff as the solid piece pictured above. /end thread jack.
