Mazda NB1 SD Card can't be read in NAV or Computer

The NAV was working fine, got home and took out the SD as usual and put it in the computer. I received an error from the TomTom app saying there is no SD card. Wonderful. This seems to be directed as a Mazda issue. Luckily, there is a solution, I hope: http://us.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16850/kw/backup to new sd card ...if this is a random and/or reoccuring issue it makes the NB1 even worse than it already is.

If it continue to give you trouble you can always use another SD card, there is nothing particularly special about the one that comes with your Mazda. Just double check to make sure you're buying one with the right capacity and speed.

I shouldn't have to buy another one, its part of the car and Mazda would deal with it. Regardless, its not a card issue, its a software issue.

I just followed the instructions on the link and it worked. It reset most of the customizations I made so they'll need to be changed back to the way I like them. Hopefully this a one time deal but its a known issue and TomTom should get it fixed.

I made a backup of the SD card and kept a copy of the image on one of my computers and made a backup on another card. 8GB SD cards are dirt cheap these days. I don't keep a single copy of anything.

I have a better 16GB class 10 card and the computer has a backup of the Mazda TomTom card. Our NAS has a backup of the computer as well. No issues on that front.

No problem in the Netherlands.....I even upgraded the SD with the new maps of Europe and IR camera`s...........How come ?

In the UK there is a dealer recall to check the SD card, if its 8gb is has to be replaced with the standard 4gb.
I have no idea why.

Seems to be OK so far. I usually take the card out every 1 or 2 weeks to get community updates.

I don't have this issue but I do have another issue where everytime I put my card into the SD slot Windows asks me to format it which would erase all data but if I just X that window out everything works as normal. I wonder why it's doing that.
