mazda inventory

Curious question. I go to mazda website everyday to check the inventory of my local dealers. Mazda keeps it quite accurate, as I have went to dealer and visually can confirm what mazda is reporting.
The curious thing is that when I go to mazda site for the last week, even though on the drop down choice menu, they list every type of 2006, and 2007(that would be 4 2006 models, and five 2007 models-they list them by style and auto or manual), they still have the 2006 on the drop down menus, but it shows 0 2006 cars in inventory.
Went to two dealers yesterday, and one still had eight 2006 vehicles, which they have had for at least three or four months on the lot, and the other dealer had about 4 2006 still on lot.
I check the inventory, so In my own mind, feel how much pressure I can put on dealer to sell me a 2006 at a rock bottom price if I do care to choose to buy one of them.
Why is mazda showing like they have no 2006,s left, when in actuality they do?

Stay safe

I don't know dude.. would you boast old crap on your website because you can't get rid of it? Or perhaps its to keep sneeky people like you on thier toes :)

There's some odd accounting trick where the dealer 'buys' the car, and Mazda shows it as sold. This starts the warranty clock ticking, but I don't know what other benefits there are for the dealer. My stealership still has an 05 Tribute, and an 05 6s brand new.

I have to disagree with you on that one. The warranty clock starts ticking when the consumer takes posession. If that was the case. most North American cars would have eaten through half their warranty before purchased. I've never experienced that when purchasing a vehicle off the lot.
