Mazda gained 18% in europe totally, but total car sales in europe dropped during 2013 with 1,8%
that mean in real figures that Mazda went from 1% of the market share to 1.2% (shady)
Mazda growed in all major european markets, and most in the north part with sales increased sales in sweden with 62% and they maneged to dubble there sales in norway.

According to mazda it was mostly thanks to the new Mazda 6 and cx 5.

Sorry if it's not understandable i translated it from mazdas swedish homepage. But Mazda has sold more cars in 2013 :).

And i'm sure the new 3 will outsell the old 3 in europe, the new one looked designed for europe and that smiley face front that the old 3 had wasn't popular here and europeans don't like that "hard" plastic interior that the old mazda 3 had either this new one has an interior that could be taken for being a european car (it looks like a mix of Audi A3, bmw 1 and Mercedes A).

we know that japanese manufactures are great on builiding reliable cars but they often don't make cars that europeans don't want to own.

You can just look at statistic biggest manufacturs here is in the list below (from 2012 sales), none of the top 10 is a japanese, infact only Ford is a none european brand (link to a swedish magazine incase you want to see it, obs the its in swedsih but you can see the list in that link http://www.teknikensvarld.se/2013/02/04/37873/europas-mest-salda-bilmarken-och-bilmodeller-2012/)
VW
Renault
Ford
Opel
Peugeot
Audi
Citroen
BMW
Mercedes
Fiat

if i were to think of any changes for 2013 list is that fiat could be gone and skoda in.

Anyway im happy to report that mazda has grown alot in europe. And i wouldn't be suprised if the new Mazda 3 puts mazda around 1,5% of the market share in europe, after all europe is golf/hatchback market. But they need to get throw and into peoples knowledge making a car that gets great reviews is a way of doing that.

Mazda gained 91% in sweden in January and the new Mazda 3 increased sales with 900%...

So Mazda seems to have continued to grow
