Mazda forgetting about the MP3?

Let's not forget to bug the s*** out of mazda and mazdaspeed so they can somehow release the turbo as an add on option for us mp3 owners. I wouldn't feel so ripped off then at least.

I don't Mazda is "forgetting" the MP3, but I wonder if the turbo upgrade will be anything more than a slew of Mazda part numbers. I would love the LSD and the bigger axles before I would think of adding the turbo from the MSP. (Chances are neither option will happen on my ride anytime soon, BTW).

Mazdaspeed might offer those pieces as high-performance kits in the future though. That would make sense.

I thought the plan was to offer the parts through specifc dealerships, kind of like how TRD operates with Toyota dealers.

Some Mazda dealers were supposed pick up "Mazdaspeed" status.

let us not forget the ES and P5 ownwers as well. I'm sure some of them would want the turbo. For sure there is a market for it.

Chris, dealers becoming "Mazdaspeed" outlets would make the most sense. Instead of trying to get everyone on board, just give it to the dealers that have a clue and will promote it.

A lot of MP3s sat on lots unloved because many dealers had no idea what they had. Other dealers traded them things like beige MPVs for them and then sold the MP3s at list or above.

I think i would be just interested in the setup parts for the turbo not necessarially a kit. i would like a reprogrammed ecu for the turbo? a ecu upgrade would be nice. i plan to port and polish change my cams and fly wheel i may consider the lsd. I think the mazdaspeed is pretty week for a new model of the MP3. i think you all should keep your cars and wait and see what happens for 2004. i think mazda is getting better but more refining is required for a Super Protege. The tripoint kit is out if i had a mp3 instead of my es i would be interested in that 210 at the wheels is no joke. plus i think they should have taken a look at the colors they are offering the Mazdaspeed maybe taken a survey and gotten the customers opinion maybe like the M & M contest. I personally like the orange i think it is hot. i like tuning cars and i am just starting out. this market is hot right now and mazda i think is the way to go. i am taking the different route other than Honda. i think honda screwed up when they changed the suspension. i beat my friends civic with my stock protege es. he has ground control coilovers and 16 x 7.5 Kumho's and tower bars and the works on his car and although he whopped me in speed i killed him in the bends. Our cars are awesome handlers and have alot of potential i think i will wait till 2004 to see how the EVO and other trick cars affect the market. i think mazda will step up to the plate. just my opinion sorry for the rant.

this is a great forum i enjoy reading this page i may not have a mp3 but i sure learn alot about my car from you guys! :)

rant away my friend. You make some good points. I was considering a new Honda. But, when they changed the suspension, I changed my mind. Hence the Mazda. And I don't regret a thing.

Oh No! I'll never see Mazdaspeed parts in my area... None of the dealers around here have a clue! I still get "is that stock?" from our local Mazda dealer's service manager(s). Although the parts guy there is very cool and seems to know about everything. He was telling me about this whole special display he's going to do with the MP3 upgrades for "normal" Protege's and some other cool Suby stuff. Hopefully they'll judge by the parts guy...
