Well now that I have my Dodge RAM Turbo Diesel, I am even more impressed than ever with the possibilities of Diesel. You can keep turning up the boost and octane is never an issue because Diesel works off compression. My truck is running somewhere between 25-30 PSI in stock form, but the motor can easily take somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 PSI. The turbo is a Holset HY35. With a chip and some larger injectors, etc., this truck is capable of 12 second 1/4 miles. I can already out accelerate most vehicles on the highway....my last kill was a modded Eclipse. The kids in it kept looking over and just smiling in amazement. Here are two videos of an older body style Dodge RAM pulling a 12 second 1/4 mile. You will see lots of smoke because this truck has huge injectors and is a twin turbo setup. You usually don't see excessive smoke with diesel until you put really large injectors on and combine them with chip tuning.
