Just got a set of 5900k bulbs for the fogs - any tips or tricks for getting at the bulb - anything to look out for?

Thanks!

Ted

Will do - I found the fog light installation manual here on the forum - looks like 6 fasteners on each side - but if anyone has experience pulling these, let me know - I've found that usually there is some little detail they forget to mention...

Thanks

This is just halogen bulbs, then painted to get higher color to look like Xenon bulbs.
So I don't think it will match stock brightness and color.

Thanks Memasterac - if you read a couple of posts up, I said I had found the manuals here in the forum. As I said in the original post, even when it looks straight up - sometimes there are issues that people who have actually done the modification have run into.

A good example are the threads on changing out the rearview mirror - YES there are instructions posted here - YES they appear to be straight-forward - however, the tips from the gentleman who had experienced breaking the tabs on the rain sensor were helpful.

So please spare me the snark - I know how to run a search and did - was asking if anyone who had done it had any issues - that's it.

The change out went well - as I figured - it's never quite as simple as it seems - however, here are a couple of quick tips.

Firstly, you DON'T need to take out all of the fasteners they show in the PDF - the front 3 screws are enough to pull it down - reach in and take out the bulb. The bulb holder screws out COUNTERCLOCKWISE - they don't tell you that either. I was sure I was going to break the bulb - they are in there pretty tight from the factory.

Lastly, these bulbs are plug and play. Just changed them for the ones in there and so far appear to work just fine.

The bulb color nearly exactly matches the HIDs - so buy with confidence. No idea how they are going to last, but they look great. I'll post up pictures after it gets dark. I took a few just now, after I changed them, but you really can't tell much.

I replaced my fogs with HID upgrades....Much brighter than the stock headlights.

I also want to change my fogs....they are not bright at all, compared to my head lights. (HID's) Do you or anyone else have some pics of the new fog lights? also, did you get any special kind?

Did you ever take any pics of the new fog lights? how are they after a year of use?

I changed out my fog light bulbs to a "yellow" bulb to make the car more visible during the infrequent foggy times here ont the "left coast". It was a very simple task, completed in less than a half hour. If you are looking to Light Up The World with the standard equipment, then I would think changing the stock bulbs to a Xenon would indeed be better but beware of the extreme heat that some bulbs create.

reviving instead of starting a new thread.. any suggestions on a better bulb to match my fog lights to the HID lights?
