dont know about egr because i wasnt running it before anyways. I am assuming it probably wont fit however because you offer it as a 70 dollar extra upgrade with the manifold.

I just JB welded the egr opening closed because i wasnt using it anyways.

For those running egr, Cullen is probably right though, you will need a custom tube... ie the one that ********** sells.

I will keep everyone posted.

ok so its one of 2 things

1) you have a customized EGR hole on the manifold
2) you have a customized EGR pipe

now since you have to pay for the EGR option, I am going to guess the manifold is stock and that your just buying the pipe?

Two things...

One... I have a how to on taking your manifold on and off...

Second if you REALLY want to settle this take the 626 manifold and do a CC test on it... meaning fill it up with water and measure it precisely Every port and hole and surface needs to be covered, then you carefully fill it to the top exactly and work any air out... then you drain it into a measuring cup/cylinder etc... and that is the internal volume of the mani.. do that on both manis... if there is a difference in volume then there is a difference in the runners and that is the end of the story!

Second... I can custom make ANY kind of intake manifold you guys want.. i can do single ones, I can make them straight, I can make them curved.. I can make whatever design you want... but probably minimum start cost would be 1K. If we did a group buy... maybe get it down to about 600... but anyway... moving on... good luck figuring this one out... I agree they look similar, but until there is emperical measurements between two of them... I'm not willing to doubt that Cullen has something slightly different.
 
Hey Bryan, did you already have the VTCS removed on the intake you just took off? If so, was it really that much of a gain over the modded stocker?
 
I was just on car-part and they had about 75 of them. From like 250 down to about 40 bucks. Make sure you search for the 4 cyl std. emissions one though.
 
Just ordered mine, i hope to have it ported to match the manifold gasket. Does anyone

know if the 626 TB is a larger diameter than the protege?
 
as nice as this mani is, wouldnt we benefit from a short runner mani anyhow? how bout we clammer over a custom short runner mani! :)

How about Tekkie and I working on it currently :).

Hoping to design up a sheet metal tuned runner mani for both FI and NA guys.. if anyone can find out the runner length that TriPoint used that would be great.

I'm doing my own designs and am also already in contact with a shop that specializes in sheet metal manis (Magnus Motorsports).

UPDATE!!!

Ok so i took this afternoon to pinpoint my vacuum problem etc... I found out my throttle body wasnt sealing correctly to the mani, so i got some permatex copper gasket maker and applied it.

Long story short, about 1 hour later, she is purring like a kitten again. I just jumped out of the shower, but i am on my way to test it out give impressions right now..
