Mazda 5 Furano (2.0 Diesel)
Hi there, I'm in the UK and need to replace the rear sway bar/anti roll bar drop links and bushes. I've just had a quote from the main dealer which has made my eyes water - they want a total of 144.48!!! I've found the drop links on eBay, of various makes, but if anyone has tried these and can recommend the best ones to go for that would be appreciated.
I'm not doing so well on the bushes however, are they the same as the Mazda 3, or any other Mazda, or Ford? My local car parts store can't get them at all.

Many thanks for any help with this.

To test just how many parts interchange with Ford or Volvo, you can look up part selections on eBay or PartsTrain to see what part numbers pull for suspension parts. Then you can compare to what you see for your year mazda5 . Many do interchange with the Focus and the smaller Volvos as well as the Mazda3.

Sway bar might be specific to the 5 due to the higher weight. Although a Mazdaspeed3 might be beefy enough - others that know this firsthand would have to chime in on this notion .

Rock Auto also sells EU-spec swaybar parts. I didn't order anything for my rears, but I know they have EU spec front endlinks, which were different than NA endlinks. Just another source if you're looking for more options than just eBay. As for the bushings, IDK if your rear bar is smaller than ours (do you have the 16" wheels or 17" wheels? The 17" will hint that you have an upgraded car which will probably have beefier parts, possibly even a bigger swaybar, tho I think all rear bars are the same regardless.

As an aside, I'm kinda surprised that you can do any kind of DIY there in the UK. I thought that by now, that anything more involved than putting petrol in the tank or air in the tyres would be reserved for specialists.

I usually wont ship over-seas but for the sake of helping out a fellow MZ5'er as long as you pay for the shipping, I'll sell you my old sway bar complete with end links and Prothane bushings...all ready to just bolt up.
