Mazda 5 Engine Question

Hello,
Not too long ago I bought Mazda 5 Sport (2009) with 147HP turbo diesel engine. I`ve noticed that instead of model number "5" on the back, the car came with letter "R". Furthermore, there`re "Super Chips" logos on both side windows, which suggest engine tuning. Since I bought it not directly from the previous owner, I cannot consult him on this question. Are there any simple ways to determine whether the engine is tuned or not? And if it is, what`s possible engine power boost?

Sorry can't answer, but thanks for rubbing it in with your turbodiesel engine. Just call me jealous, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. What fuel economy figures are you getting?

AFAIK, superchips can only be used on 1 vehicle at a time (some you can buy a second tune for the same car make). I suspect, unless you received the tuner as well, the owner likely detuned it before trading it in, otherwise he's stuck with a $300 brick. You may be able to contact superchips with your VIN and they can tell you something.

Ahhhh Turbo diesel!!! I wish!!! Sorry for the non helping comment... I am just so frustrated with the lack of diesel vehicles here in Canada (and I guess North America)
