Mazda 3 ---> Mazdaspeed 3

:
2008 Mazda 3 sedan speed:)
A long while ago some of you heard of my plans to boost my mazda 3, after researching i have found not one person to boost a 2008 2.0L mazda 3.. So after about 5 months 2 different shops and now on the 3rd tuner my car is running!!

I have a...
T25 BB true Garrett Turbo with FMIC,
Mazdaspeed fuel injectors,
A custom built intake.

Seeing as how no one has ever done it, they have nothing to go off of to tune it(hense it taking so long). They guy who has it now, Alex Pasquin, took a brand new never before used software(for mazdas) and is changing/adjusting that to tune my car, so my tune will be nothing like any other as well. Right now it's set at 5psi until he can get the fuel maps correct and everything all cleaned up..

Here are some pictures..

Thanks bud! As soon as the tune is set I will put up some numbers, from what I hear, the tuner said it should be ” incredible” so I'm pretty excited

I have been wondering about your build. Nice to see an update. Good luck with the tune.

My car might be fully tuned soon! Just updating... I have talked to 2 different people, I might install a F/IC to set all my fuel maps correctly so I won't run lean anymore. Or I might go with a completely different person to tune. Hopefully today I can hear some good news and soon my baby beast will be at 100%

so what transmission are you running?, what is your whp?....Im doing 358whp 350ft/lbs torque sedan with a ms3 6spd....a beast huh?!

Damn! Are you a 2.3L?
Transmission is stock for now
And don't know the wheel horse power yet, tune isn't finished. I'm talking to a guy monday to see if he can do it

Yeah it is a 2.3 @17psi w/gt2871r, that 5spd is junk if you ever want to make real power just an fyi.....if you decide to try to use the aem fic I strongly suggest you contact tri-point engineering, you cannot install an fic out of the box and expect it work with the oem denso ecm, it needs a special hex file (like a bios), actually I know of only one person with a 2lt who got it to work, another factor is the crank and cam sensors where changed post 06, all pre 06 mzr2 & 2.3 use mag position sensor and all post 06 use hall position sensors, california emissions and 48 state federal emissions.
Fuel system needs to be totally upgraded and changed over to a return style versus the deadhead system. You have your work cut out for you, I really can't offer any assistance because your engine is a 2lt, I have no experience with it and it is different enough that what works on my 2.3 will not work on your 2lt....the 2lt is actually better at handling dynamic load due to the shorter stroke/shorter rod length, it would actually be a stronger engine then the 2.3lt, it could handle a higher redline and very tolerant of loading.

The answers/parts are out there, but you have to dig hard and deep to find them, focus shares our engine platform, many other platforms have had to modifiy essentially the same type of fuel system our cars use, check out various forums dealing with cars like srt4, focuses, mustangs etc......

yeah i hear you, so far im 7 months in and it feels so close but i know how far i am. i put the kit on there for just a little play right now. in time i am going to build it but i will worry about that after i finish paying it off. As of right now i have tried 3 shops and 4 different people tuning it and so far i still dont have a complete tune. i have 2 new people that want to try because they think they can do it so we will see. your car sounds beast and i love that you have the sedan. i think i actually have seen the youtube video of your car and if it is that one i love it!

I figure it's time to post an update, this week I am ordering a cobb exhaust for my car and not to mention I found a new person to tune my car, in about 2 weeks he is going to look at my car to see what he can do! This man is a incredible tuner so I have faith it will be done!

Yes, I am. :) Because installing a custom turbo setup (or even an all-in-one setup) without properly tuning on a dyno and on the street = recipe for disaster. ;)

haah oh yeah, i know that!! The guy with the dyno needs to fix the whole in their wall(from a runaway car) before they can get me up on that dyno! I will post numbers, pictures, and videos when its done!!
