Max miles for clutch TSB coverage?

I'm thinking of "complaining about my clutch" even though I don't mind it that much. Should make it easier to sell down the road. The question is, I have 24K miles on the car. Has anyone with this many miles on their car gotten this done? If so, did Mazda pay for it?

Yes, I had mine done at 23k on my odometer and no problems with my dealer doing this TSB and Mazda paid for it.

they will fix it under the TSB, but you may have to pay for it. the clutch warranty is only 12k. TSB means only that Mazda is aware of a problem, and has a fix. it does not guarentee warranty work. you can try it. but don't be surprised if they tell you no.

i just had mine fixed and i have 30,000 on my speed6. they had no problems with it and it was still free of charge.

What was the process. The dealership is telling me it could take 3 days just for mazda to check out the issue..and then who knows what else

I used these exact words "High Engagement Point" and "Hard to Depress Clutch" which the service writer wrote down the exact words on the work order.

My car was taken right in. No "waiting" period whatsoever. I'm wondering if your dealership is relying on some Mazda area rep. to approve the TSB in person, hence the three day wait?

i was told no at the first dealer its of 12k
25k on it now but i got the car at 19,900 said they did not know what was wrong at that time ok luve the car i will take it

now i hear there is a tsb
ask about it playing dumb
told about clutch probs but said nothing about the tsb
NO it over 12k
clutch warranty is only go till 12k
there is a fix but your over 12k (said the jerk)
said i know it is over 12k (me)
but it is not the clutch sliping it is the clutch does not perform the way it should
and mazda knows it
you will make money from mazda i said it is not like you are doing it for free
(me)
he said i know i will make money but i do not have to fix it
it is over 12k (jerk)
i know it is over 12k this is not a clutch warranty
it is a fix form mazda for a bad clutch disigen
call mazda (click)

that's unfortunately true. they do not *need* to fix it past 12k.

that is wrong you sound like a dealer

the 50k warranty has 12k clutch warranty in it if the clutch fails

the tsb does not say sh!t about 12k

12k warranty on the clutch and a tsb are 2 totally different things

correct and not correct. a TSB is just a service bulletin. it tells the mechanics about a known issue and how to fix it. it is not a recall which would fix the problem regardless of mileage. i am just saying i see how dealers are getting away with it, but i also agree that it is bs and they should be fixing the known issue. i would say that anyone having a problem with their local dealer should take it up with MNAO and see what the "official" stance is.

Well took car in today, did the 2 recalls and the REFLASH, I know maybe not a good idea, but no issues yet. No real notice of lost power. AND Dealer said no to TSB. Did not find any mechanical issue with clutch. They said they test drove it and could not duplicate it. They drove for 1 mile.
I don't mind the clutch, I have gotten use to it, but would be nice if it was smoother.

Try another dealer. There are those like you that have been denied the clutch TSB but yet found another dealer who did the work with no issues. My VIN fell in the Type A and the dealer who did the TSB also sold me the car.

The same dealer is currently replacing my turbo for leaky seals under warranty so they have really earned my future business IF I stay with Mazda. Good luck.

Well Attempt number 2 and it worked. The Dealer is going to do it and the parts are in stock. About 1 1/2 days to do. Have the loaner car and all under warrantey. AND I have 20K miles on it. and with out any issue they agreed. The only difference that I can think of is that the first dealer that said no was not the place where I bought the car. And the second one was. Only because the 1st dealer was right by my work...Way to go KINGS MAZDA. LOVE YA![/B][/B]

Got the car back tonight, and all I can say is wow what a difference. ALOT easier to depress the clutcha and again a thrill to drive. Thanks again KINGS MAZDA, Cincinnati Ohio
