Max HP on a 2.3 Mazda3

:
2012 Touring MT
I tried to find something that tells me what is the max HP gain on a 2.3 Mazda 3 without internals just bolt-ons but did not find something definitive. Somebody I know is claiming 190 HP, is it possible?

Thanks

Andres

190? hugely unlikely.. unless referring to flywheel power.

The only heavily accurate comparison I got was vs a stock 3 immediately after on a dyno.

Cosworth IM, no heat spacer (shorter runners)
MSDS headers (4-1)
SRI
very open catback / catless

Gain was 20hp, -5tq

Power was useless because it was all at redline.

Since then however I've put a 3/4" heat spacer on the IM giving me longer runners after the plenum to drop the gains down to increase torque, and swapped to a Vibrant 4-2-1 header with a more restricted RacingBeat exhaust, also to give back some torque for better driving around town.
Unfortunately... there aren't any dyno meets around here anymore / haven't been in over a year, and even then I don't really have a stock 3 to immediately compare it to.

The admin on another Mazda 3 forum has bolted about everything he possibly can to his engine, and the above results were pretty much what his were IIRC. Lose a little torque, gain some power in the top 1/4 of the tach. He does track days though, so in his case that works for him.

If you're looking for power, you're looking at a turbo. Used Speed manifold, turbo, down pipe, injectors, and tuning for about 5-7 psi will get you good useable power that's been shown to be reliable on a stock bottom end (assuming you're tuning is good, and you're not detonating.)
