Has anyone figured out a way to accomplish this with or w/o a tuner?
Thanks

Why do you want full boost in 1st or 2nd...its all wheel spin... (huh)...its useless.
Even with traction control and corksport motor mount inserts I can spin well into third gear. I can't get traction if I punch it in second, all it does is blow tire smoke, screech, and try to throw me off the road. There is NO REASON to have full boost in 1 and 2. ZERO!
what IS the max boost for first and second gears without using the mbc. as in, whats the max for each at stock setup???
exactly. heck, I'm actually annoyed that I can't take second gear as hard as I want to. was running with a friend of mine in a mustang today and he poked back at me that while it was cool to hear me break loose at the top of second and even a bit in third, it didn't help my cause....beating him...but it was cool and I still pulled on his slushbox 'tang![]()
I lose traction about 500-1000 rpms after I floor it, if not instantly, like the other night in the rain![]()
BTW...I'm not asking anyone else if they wanted it or if I needed it. Just wanted to know how to achieve it.
Thanks

Ken, you're smart, let me ask you. I am not necessarily looking to turn up the boost but in certain high speed situations my boost is creeping past 18psi and I am getting cut. Only breathing mods are intake/dp/rp. The idea of a map clamp taking away the safety factor bothers me, but I think what I am getting from the boards is that if I dial in a boost setting (say 17.9psi) that it will not let me exceed that set psi. So at least in theory, I could use a boost controller to keep myself out of boost cut range without removing my overboost protection. If this makes sense fantastic... if I am talking out of my ass, let me know.
the MAP clamp does not limit the amount of boost the car makes. you can use the adjustable one we offer to tune exactly how much boost the car sees, rather than the BCD which is really just a bleeder valve that, as i recall, makes the car think its hitting 10psi and no more at all times. if you are hitting 18 psi, you could set the MAP clamp to the level of boost just shy of what would trigger the cut (15 psi) and still be relatively safe. any kind of boost controller cannot take you below what the car boosts naturally. so if you are boosting 18 you can't use a controller to go to 16 per se.
