Masking tapes??

My car has masking tapes on some of the hoses/wiring under the air box. Is this normal? Why masking tape instead of black tape or something. I'll take a picture later.

Whatever you do DON'T REMOVE THAT TAPE. That is the tape that keeps the motor from falling out.

It's kinda like the tag on your new mattress. "Do not remove under penalty of law!"

Seriously, mine has it too. My guess is that since this is a limited production vehicle, they are some kind of identification that would be more official looking for the standard 3. Or maybe there is tape holding the harnesses in a nice package before installation and the installers are too lazy to remove completely when they put them in. I have been taking them off whenever I reach one.

Youll find these bits of white masking tape all over the car. They use them to identify parts, wiring harnesses etc. They have little japanese characters written all over them. Feel free to tear them off as you find them, i know my engine bay was chock full of em, and under the dash too.
