NA MX-5: Mark's 1992 Smurf Build

See what happens when you retire? Your mind goes right out the window (or under the table)! One reason I'm still working.

I’ve noticed a couple things here…Not only do you guys post great stuff about your Miatas…You all seem to have quite the sense of humor. 😆😁
We've known each other for too long. Maybe not well enough to know where all the bodies are buried, but close enough. Of course if we all make it to MATG this year, that will change...

Off to town for some Robin shopping, after our scones!

Finally figured out my bouncing idle. There’s a valve that opens and closes, but the water temp, located on the intake manifold. Its purpose is to help with starting in cold climates. Well it was stuck open a bit allowing more air in. I don’t need the thing here in FL, so I blocked it off and ran a nipple to the in and out coolant lines. Idles at 850 all day now! Score one for me! Took a bunch of try’s to track this down!

Nice job of tracking the issue down.

So my time in the Deep South is coming to an end, we’ll be pulling up stakes next week after my mom‘s 91st Bday.
Bluey will be taking a long summers/fall nap until I get back the first of Jan. 2024! 😬
Got two more events to hit up before the exodus.
Went to a Cape Coral meet last night, great ride down and back and met some cool folks from the Suncoast Miata Club.

Straight home now Mark.

Hopefully will get Mia out of storage this weekend. Just an oil change and install some SS brake lines.

Haven’t updated this thread in a long while. Bluey is now a tribute car. A very talented Hot Wheels designer by the name of RYU Asada passed away at the tender age of 42. Hot Wheels did a car in his honor and I got the livery from Spinnywhoosh out of Tampa to do my full size Miata in homage to him.
Got some wheels to match too! When I attend different car events I hand out Hot Wheels to the kids.
