Manual + cold weather

To the guy who said idling will not warm the transmission: With the car in neutral and the clutch not depressed, the input shaft of the transmission is still spinning, generating heat in the gear oil. Not to mention ambient temperature increase in the engine bay or transferred heat from the block.
 
regardless, letting your car idle until the engine is at operating temp (don't know the exact temp, but thermo @ mid...ha) isn't going to put everything else at operating temp. it takes me about 20ish minutes of driving before I can feel everything working as it should. Just drive sanely until everything clicks, sounds, feels as fluid as it should be. My commute is nearly 50 miles in the morning so the speed is more than ready to go hard by that time. You should be able to easily tell when things are still "off" vs ready.
