Maine inspection help

I just got a P5 from Mass. I bought it from a dealer, and when I went to get the inspection they said that the exhaust is not legal in Maine. They said that you can not have a straight muffler. The exhaust itself is fine, except the muffler. It needs to have "baffles" according to the place I went. I have seen a bunch of cars that have much louder exhausts than mine in my parking lot. Does anyone know if I should try somewhere else for an inspection? I'm in cumberland county, so if anyone knows anywhere that is more likely to pass a muffler like this it would be awesome.

A straight muffler? Are they referring to the mid pipe from the cat to the rear muffler?

no, that is fine. apparently the muffler is a straight pipe. theres no "can" part on it

The stock exhaust I took off my P5 was two pieces. The mid pipe and the can. So you need a muffler according to the shop.

Sounds like you can just buy a muffler and have it welded in. That's what I would suggest. Then go re-inspect.

You can borrow my stock for the inspection. Takes 5 min to swap out if your stock axleback connection is intact. Sorry little late finding this post.
