main gripe you MS6 owners have?

My biggest gripe is how the front end tends to completely dissapear when you hit a deer... the bumper just explodes, kinda crazy. I got a front row seat to the show tonight.

My only gripe so far is the price to replace the rubber, but it's not really the car's fault that 18 inch tires are kind of costly.

Good Lookin' Speed

So this has nothing to do with the original title of this thread but I had to give you some serious props on your Speed6...I LOVE the white MSP6's and whatever you have done to yours has made it look that much better. I have the black version of it with dark windows, black and white leather seats, and just recently I installed the Mazdaspeed intake. Even with all of that, this car looks bad ass!! Props on what you have done with it and hopefully you are not done yet!

Hmmmm

1) 'Brake dust' for sure, wondering if better quality pads will help with that problem? anyone?
2) 'Road noise' is a bit too much for a car like this imho. Think I'm gonna fully install some Dynamat/extreme for the whole cabin.
3) Gas mileage, 19 mpg first tank.......................bah ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM:)

As to the tires here's the good news, Nelson's Mazda in Nashville will replace my tires with the OEM's that came with the car, if I will do all my oil changes with them. $59.00/per less the OIL (I'll be using Mobil1/syn) so about 35 bucks/per. I can live with the Bridgestone/Potenza's.......:)

my gripe is that the stereo doesn't have a pause button, only mute (and if it does please tell me where it is cuz I can't find it!).

You guys are funny about brake dust... its not bad at all... Try an Evo ... youll want to kill yourself because youll be cleaning the wheels every 3 days

Well I reset the trip odo after I washed the wheels and 75km's later they were showing brake dust.

I actually discovered one gripe within the past few days of lousy weather....the windows fog/frost up like crazy, even with the AC on. Anyone else have this happening?

for you guys who dont like the brake dust. walmart sells this product for the wheels and its suppose to repeal the brake dust... i have a bottle in my car right now, dont no the name, hell dont even know if it works. i never tried it, but it says it keeps your rims clean cause my mp3 dust a lot too...

I've had no problems fogging up. One cold day, around 8 degrees F, I got into the car and was breathing heavy. My windshield started to fog up a little but I just started the car and the ACC kicked in, defogging the windshield almost immediately.

My gripes: the cloth seats in the sport suck, much like a Ford Taurus. If only the bottom cushion front end would raise up, the Bose stereo sounds "tinny" unlike my wifes wagon, shifter knob sucks, gas mileage takes getting used to. It is awd though, which I've never owned. The engine is rough between 1700-2300 rpms at low speeds, causes vibration through the steering wheel.
Minor gripes in my book. I love how it rides compared to my 06 MKV GTI, love having 4 doors, my kids get in and out on their own. Glad to have a sedan and not a hatch. I feel like a grown up now. Love how it looks, the factory wheels look better the more I look at them, just suck to clean. Speed parts are expensive, hopefully they'll drop some.

all the above mentioned, plus one more...i can't stand that the heated seats aren't adjustable. seriously...i turn these these things on and my ass is on fire. my friend's $20k gti seats are 4 way adjustable. really chaps my hide, literally.

I don't own one but I test drove one and it was really fun and very classy but I don't like the clutch and definitely do not like the understeer! Maybe I'm spoiled being used to my friends STI but I really did not like the feel of the larger front drive ratio. It would be great for harsh conditions but being able to drift corners in the STI there is no better feeling! I plan on either getting an STI, MS6, or 350Z next car and I hat to admit it but the STI is still my top choice so far. I have some time yet so hopefully you MS6 guys can convince me otherwise with your mods and stats. Don't get me wrong though, the car is totally awesome!! I'd just rather have a wicked fast car, stripped interior, racing seat and steering wheel, thats just the kind of guy I am.

so whats the main gripe about the mazdaspeed 6 that you have?

for some of you early buyers its been almost half a year since its been out. whats the biggest thing u don't like about the car?

also how does the AWD do? is it noticeably different to driving a FWD car in terms of safety and handling?

earlier this month I was flying down the highway and there was debris in the middle of the lane - I comfortably chirped the tires into a fun high speed avoidance of the debris.

I went to driving a mazdaspeed6 from driving a 2000 vw golf, more than twice the horsepower and handling. quite a satisfying car , to me , the noob car enthusiast. but still a quality vehicle, its actually manufactured in japan, the build quality shows. The only problem I've had is : at first the shock sensor was set too sensitive, had to take apart the driver kick panel and adjust.

1. Drivers side front window "clanks" at the top when I roll it up. Sounds like it's going to break the window.
2. Developed at "pinging" type noise in the dash/console. Can't quite pinpoint where it's coming from.
3. Driver's seat has developed a squeak.
4. Clutch

I've got about 7,000 miles on it right now and I'm not as happy with it as I was when I bought it. I still like the car but I'm kinda dissappointed in it as well.

i just typed up this huge f***in post about how much i love this car, and how solid it is. and the forum messed it all up...didn't do a damn thing right..anyway.. the car is awesome handles great, problem free, pure fun. no rattles, or funny noises. love the comfort, the leather seats are tight.

nothing wrong with the "clank" when rolling up the window btw. in fact its more of a "thud". a solid quality sound letting you know that your window is seated and sealed.

oh ya i just turned over 20k oN ThiZ bIoTcH tOo.

hey for the brake dust issue, i don't know if it will help with the actual accumulation of dust, but you guys might try putting some good sealant on the wheels (like zaino), and even if you're still getting lots of buildup it will at least be very very easy to clean.

Just got mine yesterday, love the car. Only thing so far and it is minor, is that under certain conditions I get a reflection in the outside rearview mirror from the trim ring around the driver's side vent outlet. It catches my peripheral vision and makes me think there is something there.

my only grip so far with the car is the clutch. i adjusted it, im completed used to the car. i have no problem driving it, i just dont like its grab point.

What do you mean by the shock sensor??

I love the car, i would have to say that for the price i would expect a more flexible sound system, like plug ins for mp3, more sound adjustability ect.
