last week, my wife was driving her moms 2005 Mazda 3 and the car would not start in a parking lot. Called the Mazda care people and the tow truck guy told here to run the shifter through the gears ( down and back up) before she started it. Sure enough it worked.
She took the car to the dealership and they replaced the park/gear sensor ( not sure of real part name) under warranty.
Yesterday, she was driving the car on the road and it completely shut down. Could have caused an accident if someone was tail gating her. Nothing happenned. She ran the shifter through the gears and the car started.
Has this happenned to anyone else? Is the sensor they replaced the only issue with this problem? Is there something else the dealership should look at?
