M3 Squirrelly Behavior on Ice

:
Mazda 3iT 2012
Had my first icy road experience with my new M3 the other day,
and scared the crap out of me. I wasn't expecting great things
from the wide low profile tires, but didn't expect it to be nearly
this bad. Every time one of the tires would hit a little ice, the
car wanted to change direction abruptly. Not a traction issue,
there was no wheel spinning, but I think there is something
seriously wrong with camber or toe. I'm gonna have to park
it until the snow and ice melts or I can get it to an alignment
shop. Anyone else have this problem, any observations or
suggestions?

since you live in ohio i am judging that you have some experience driving on ice, as in texas we dont have much. When we do, people get stupid. if it was in a turn it shouldnt break directional movement, and you should be able to keep control, going straight however, itll take the slightest bit of movement and maximize it 100X. itll take the path with least grip, not much you can really do about it except winter tires.

I live in nw ohio...ive driven a mazda2,3,5 every year through the winter since 2004. Never has hitting ice wanted to change the direction of the car. If you hit a big enough snow drift yes that can physically move your steering wheel...but I have to say no...never happened to me.
