M3 Mirror Install Help

I've got my M3 mirrors installed, but not the turn signal yet. Has anybody installed these on their P5 and if so, can you give me a quick "how-to" on hooking up the blinkers. I have the diagram that came with the mirrors, but don't really know where to run wire from the blinkers to the mirrors.

i have power ones not installed yet tho.. looks pretty simple to me jsut wire it up plug it in screw the mirrors on

Well, be ready to cut a little. I had to cut the threee plastic parts shorter that the screws go into and used the old screws from the old mirror. It was more of a headache than I thought it would be. Also had to shave off some plastic on the mirror side that connects to the door because it rubbed the window and wouldn't mount flush. If your car is anything like mine, you will need to do a little cutting and shaving. Wiring them up to your power mirror switch is pretty easy, but reversed... It's kind of wierd like that. You'll see what I mean. Not that I actually adjust them all the time, but have to remember it. The blinker install is my roadblock right now. BUT, they sure do look sweeet!

I agree, especialy it that's your Oragne Mazdaspeed... the Black goes well with my silver car, but the finish is horrible... I'm gonna get mine painted as well.

I have them. I ran wires all the way from the front turn signal in the headlights, up over the fenderliners, throught the rubber boots in the door that protect the wiring harness for the door, in to the door, up the door and to the mirrors. easy as Pie

Actually if you matched up the color coding of the wires under teh dash that come from the turn signal arm, you could tap into them under there and save the trouble of runing all that wire.

Hmm... how'd you get the wires throughthe boot? Isn't that plastic connector the only thing going through there, thus taking up all the space? Did you have to cut anything near that area?

I cut a hole in the boot with a razor blade, then fished the wire through it into the door.

Can someone please leave some detailed instructions on the wiring for the LED's on the mirror. My mirrors have a blue, black, and white wire...I found that the Black = ground, Blue = blue led's, and White = Amber led's. I guess I'll have the blue as parking lights..? (Do you think the cops will bust my balls for that..? live in NJ) Isn't there wires for the rear tails under the door sil..or no. If anyone can help me hook up my mirror blinkers...preferably not running them to the front of the car.. Thanks!!

I think I might run the 3 wires of each mirror to the tail lights. Run the wires under the door sills to the back. Unless someone knows which wires are the blinkers and parking lights under the dash..or anywhere else..

well you guys have the lights on the fenders right.......? i think it would be easier to run them from the fender or at least from teh front headlight back. just cuz the wire n wire up an extra wire to the led on the side mirrors. you might need something to keep the the light from dimmin though... but im not a electricalist... so someone whos good with electrcial stuff have any comments on this?

No..I don't have the side marker (fender) lights... It was an option on my car..but it doesn't have it..But would it still have the wiring..?? I have and 02' ES sedan
