I was going to lower my mp3, but i have now decided it isn't a good idea........I have shown my car to a few people that own aftermarket shops......they said i would be a fool to lower it.......he said tokico is probably makes the best suspension for a car.........he was telling me i already have an aftermarket suspension so why mess with it.......Lowering does make the car look better when dropped on the rims but it wouldn't be worth the headache and problems.....Another thing that made me decide was at work last night.....I work valet at a hotel and a kid had a type R which was lowered, when we drove it into the tunnel to park it, it bottomed out twice and we were driving slow........His exhaust was scraping and the ride seemed uncomfortable........So i think i will add power instead.......

i cannot decide what to do to the mp3 next...i dont want to do nothing major, i do want it dropped, but i do not want to loose handling, which is damn near impossible. but i need something else in my engine bay.

Sorry to get off subject but I saw NCYZMP3 posted here. I dont know if you guys now the whole story about this but its kinda like a scandal plagueing this forum. On a prevous thread(a week ago)
NCYZMP3 stated that after numerous......I mean NUMEROUS attempts, he would finally send me the sub that I paid 170 dollars for all the way in DECEMBER! I stated that I would give him 2 weeks and he replied saying he would send it tommorow(that was a week ago). Well one week has passed and no word from NCYZMP3. This is like the 6th time he promised he would send me this damn thing. NCYZMP3 are you a lazy ass or something or just a cheater that weazels his way out of things??? You have one more week and then I will be spreading the word about you. Hell we should all try to get you kicked off of here if you dont shape up man!!:mad:

To Vegas....I say you should have laughed at that guy at the shop, then tell him about JIC, Skunk2 still to be released, H&R Coilover kits, Intrax Springs, Ground Control, Bilstien and a couple of other companies that are still looking at the Protege. There are plenty of options for lowering the MP3, the question is how much do you want to spend? If the guy at the shop was cool and customer oriented, he would have told you that he wasn't sure what was out for your car and that he'd take down your number and get back to you. That is how you build customer relationships......support the customer no matter what route they choose. Each to their own, I say. Damn I wish I worked at a car shop.
Apex.......He is cool, i do know him on a friend level.....He knows about jic, skunk2 and other companies making products for the protege........He was giving me his honest opinion........He thinks tokico is just as good as those companies when it comes to suspension......that is why our car handles better than most cars....He was telling me to put money into power not handling since it allready has an aftermarket suspension that handles well........You are right about, when things are done right i would have no problems with lowering it......He believes it is a waste of money at this point.....He wants me to redue my piping and airintake........I am going to keep my muffler and tip and add 2.25 piping from the catback........there is a custom exhaust shop that can do that with same piping as i would get from an aftermarket company......I want to do this because i like the sound of my muffler........For example my best friend has a wrx and wants to make it faster.....i said you should hold off because it is fast.......but put money into rims, bodykit and etc because the car doesn't look that sporty, but is already fast......then once you do that, start to work on ehaust, piggyback, intake, headers, intercoolers......... thanks for the reply
