Lowered P5 fit 215/45/17s?

More specs on the wheels are needed, width? offset? Also do you happen to know which springs/struts are on the car?

tires are MSP OEM sized... so as long as your offset is over 40, and your width is under 8, you should be good.

past either of those measurements, and you'll probably need to roll the rear fenders.

i would say as long as your offset is over 45, i have 42 offset wheels and the fenders are rolled...still rubs! o and that is on 205 width tires too!

^^i dont undstand how you rub. i have 225 on 8" wide and i cut the border and i cant HEAR any rubbing(but my fender/bumper are a little black). You must have minimal rubbing i guess.

fair enough. at 40 offset, I rubbed a 215, and didn't rub a 205... but that depends on the tire too.

I have 245/45s on my car now that are basically the same dimensionally as a pair of 225/50s by a different maker.

I'm running a 225/45 at 47 offset rear, with only rubbing if I'm hammering on it, or have 5 people in the car. my 245/45s up front only rub if I'm turned at full lock.

how do I know what my offset is and such? I just bought this car used last week.
Sometimes it's stamped into the back of the wheel. You could start by posting a picture. Maybe someone will recognize the wheels.

pull the wheel off, look on the back. the offset should be stamped into it somewhere. almost certianly a number between 35 and 55... if you post up a good high res pic of the back we can figure it out.

as for width, if you have 215 tires on it, I'd guess its VERY likely a 7" wide..

Posting a few pics of the setup wouldn't hurt... we can probably have a good idea of if you should expect problems just from some pics.

ninja'd.

You could try searching the internet...only helpful if you know what wheels are on the car. Or you can pull a wheel off, the specs will be stamped on the backside of a spoke. Offset is usually preceeded by the letters ET.

Another option would be to post up some pics...maybe someone on here will have an idea from looking at them.

I just got home from work but tomorrow I will get a friends camera and take some pics of the car and give you guys the current wheel size on the car, then the rims and tires that I have in my garage.

thanks

I'm running that size tire on MX-5 wheels which are +55. Only minor rubbing if I turn it to the end.

I'm runnig 17x7.5 witha 41 offset. I have run 225/45 with minor rubbing, I autocross it really hard though, it is easy to roll your fender lip with a bat or pipe and a hairdryer though.
