I drove my car to work this morning. Running fine, shifting fine. By the way it is a 94 Protege with 150k miles on it. 1 owner, older lady. Very well kept. I work till lunch. When I get in the car, it starts and idles at 1200 rpms. I think.. Huh... That is funny. Mind you, it didn't do that this morning. Then I take off to Subway. Trans will not shift out of first or second till 4k rpms. If you let out of the gas before 4k rpms, it just idles down to 1200 rpms. The torque converter is not staying locked. So I headed down the highway to see if I could get it to shift in to top gear. No luck. Well I got my food and went back to work. After work I drove home. I tried got it to 4k rpms on I-45 in 3rd, with no luck. It will not shift into overdrive. Let me tell you, this make a 42.5 mile trip suck on and interstate. I was doing 45 mps in the slow lane and still getting honked at. Can anyone help me, I am going to drive my M3 to work so I don't tear this brand new used 94 Protege up that I bought. Wasn't supposed to break on the first day as a drive to work car. Help if you can. Thanks.
