Lost Interest!!

That sorta happened to me too. I didn't lose interest in the P5, but finally accepted that I want to just have it as a daily driver. It's a great car...it's fun to drive, get's good gas mileage, looks sporty and unique inside and out, and has a good amount of cargo space. I decided to abandon all my plans to modify it further than I have. (Although I still want a short shifter and need new tires and a new battery) I will keep saving up my money and when I graduate from law school I will treat myself to something real nice. I'm thinking about the new Skyline GTR or something along those lines. Whatever I end up buying doesn't have to be very practical because I will still have the P5.

I like my 5 because it flies under the radar. My insurance is low, cops don't even give it a second look, where as, if I had a modded evo, I'd probably get it in some hot water. Even theives pass right by it. The hottest cars to steal are hondas, saturns or toyotas. Who would want to steal a Mazda HAHA HA.
The power thing is a bit of an issue, but I'd rather drive a slow car fast rather than a fast car slow. What good is having 300hp if you're stuck in traffic? Besides, I've seen guys who have pumped up their mazdaspeeds, so if they can do it, so can you.

Welcome to my world... I hate my ******* car and want to push it into the Bay on a daily basis... :) I'm actually putting together all the necessary crap to buy a Dodge Magnum... Still the function of a wagon (which I need) but with more ass.. :)
(getout)

you're no longer welcome here

Magnum?...ewwww....they're fricken hideous IMO.

As for the "interest", I think most everyone goes through it. Just figure out what makes you happy and go from there. You don't need to keep up with the Joneses....be happy in your world.

Agreed! (thumb) . Granted, I'd be broke as s*** if I tried to keep up w/ most of the ppl I know. Ah hell, what am I talkin about, I'm already broke as s*** ;).

turbo your car, and you will have a world of new love for it.

Yeah, nothing like dumping a bunch of money into it and then blowing the weak ass motor into bits...and having to dump even more into it. Thanks, but I'll leave mine where it is in N/A form. I lost a motor before it ever was raced and it was stock....talk about weaksauce...

Imjustagirl has had a bad week. Left her sitting a bunch of times last week....I can understand her issues with it.

Now, turboing my other car...400hp with a few psi. And no where near the limits of the block/rods. That will be fun. (thumb)

YOu can run boost safely, look at Big Tim, turbo for 2 years. Granted his boost isnt 191919919389w2439239423098 psi, but the point is that even with mild boost you gain a new love for the car. I am running 5 pounds and love how much more SAFE power I got out of the car.

No one is makin anyone go turbo, but it is fun to hear that spool sound :)

Yeah boost seems fun, I'd love to boost my car, but the fact that I'm a broke college student doesn't make that dream any easier. From what I hear, boost is addictive, and once you start you just want more and more, and before you know it, its too late.

I'm thinking a MAM stripper kit at 7 psi once my warranty goes bye-bye in another 9000 miles. Gotta start saving and get rid of the g/f so I have more car money (shady)

dude i am in the same boat as you. i got my bike permit and my buddy as been letting me borrow is bike for the past week (01 cbr600f4i) and im buying one soon lol. its an incredible experience and ever since then just been looking "down" on the p5

Right up until you get smacked by another car and are laying in the hospital wondering if the rehabilitation and pain and agony is really a fair trade for the fun and performance on the bike.

I'm thousands deep into the care (duh!) LOL... but had a buddy who drives a big block chevelle and had never been in my car before out for a drive yesterday... dropped it into second gear.. lifted the front end and laid about 50 feet of rubber and rocked to 60 mph and the look on his face made every penny worth it :)

The amount of tuning to be safe and have the car run well is immense. Big Tim is a good example of that. For a DD it's not worth it for me. I'm content with where the car is at now. I just am more of a big boat guy.

I can tune a car on the street in under an hour to be safe and run fantastic.... so I wouldn't call that al ot of time.
But different strokes for different folks most certainly!

well im keeping the car until next nov. then selling....so im going to stay NA of course. Im def going to get some parts header...midpipe..wheels etc. i cant just not mod my car at all that would kill me. lol. so i have 12 months to decide what i want to get next. im thinking evo...srt....is300....supra maybe...g35.

well, obviously not everone can do that...We wouldn't hear all the horror stories if everyone could.
