Losing Power

I've had this problem off and on for about a year and ahalf. the first time I had the cam sensor replaced, new plugs and wires. this time I replaced the coilpacks and plugs. Still doing it. It ran fine for about 3 months until yesterday where the mechanic pushed in the wires on the computer and tightened the ground. Any suggestions on what it could be??? Could a wire of came loose again???

It just goes in and out. the rpms drop but most of the time the power loss is only for a split second but does it constantly. check engine light comes on and then will start blinking.

If your CEL is blinking, you have serious problems. Did you ever read the CEL code? Any mods done to the car?

the thing is I had my car in the shop all summer and the light would blink but after they messed with the ground and computer wires it ran great until now and started back up. I'm running out of things to change. auto zone computer has the cam sensor and/or electrical problem show up.

he could of checked both. he doesn't know what he did to fix it but the problem stopped. that is probably why its doing it again. had some people in my car this weekend and could of kicked where the computer is. I believe they said it was passenger floorboard.

the computer is under the passenger floorboard, but there a metal cover over it, so I doubt it could have been kicked. I would check your engine ground wires. Might be a good idea to make a 10 point ground system

Read the posts above. Try the things this guy did. Cam sensor, Plugs/wires/coil packs, grounding wires, MAF, etc...

What type of power loss are you experiencing?

Usually its when I'm making quick stops on the freeway, engine sometimes want to cut out. Or, when I'm giving it throttle, I'll have a sudden loss of power for a few seconds, then check engine light comes on.

Have you cleaned your EGR valve and also possibly your IAC valve? I would do a good tune-up first-off, if you haven't already anyways. Plugs, and maybe wires/coil packs, check air filter, oil change, battery terminals/grounds, etc...

Yea, I need a major tune up. Just got oil change recently.
