Losing aftermarket support...

Hey everyone,
I have noticed in the past few months that aftermarket support for the MSP is dwindling. Companies that provided custom MSP specific parts have gone/are going out of business (Wagner, Mental Addiction, etc.) or simply have stopped producing the parts for our cars that they used to. For example, it becoming harder and harder to get an fmic. I know hiboost makes one, and maybe the begi fmic, but are there any others out there? Ion is gone and Corksport will probably never make anything remotely close to an intercooler specific kit. Turbohoses hardpipes can no longer be purchased through Street Unit, and even if purchased through Turbohoses directly are not offered with the option of having a bov flange welded on. I realized this isn't a very constructive post and that I'm more just venting, but does anyone else out there feel my pain?

P.S. If anyone knows where to get hardpipes besides Turbohoses (even if its just the hot pipe or something) please post here.

also. they dont make our car anymore. once most of us buy their products, thers no much left. its a dead platform unfortuneately.

I know its a dead platform, I just think it's unfortunate. Anyway, MAM's website is still up, but apparently attempting to order one of their products requires an indefinite period of time and Beau has specifically stated they are discontinuing a number of msp parts, including the fmic and the tubular manifold, two of the most unique and beneficial parts available for the MSP from any vendor.

I was unaware that they were discoing the FMIC, and mani. To be honest, I would not blame MaM though. Like Terbow said, it is a dead end platform, but on the same note, these cars are getting into the hands of 2nd owners now. With that, alot of these cars are being sold or traded in "stock" so with these new owners comes a new demand for these products.

Another problem with carrying these products is the lack of fund from potential buyers. When your FMIC costs over a grand and your mani is 700+ I could go out for another 500-700 and totally upgrade my turbo kit.

Even another issue is that these products are not carried in stock, but need to be made on and "by order" basis. This leads to some time for the product to be made, and basically put into a que when other orders need filled. This in turn leads to unhappy customers who wait a month or 2 for thier quality product and headaches and less time to actually make the product to deal with inpatient customers by the MFR. I understand you want what you buy ASAP, but that ASAP is not at the customers timeframe, but the MFR's. Hence, another reason why companies "phase out" product lines for certain platforms.

I am not targeting any member or mfr here on the forum, just stating the obvious of the situation that has been present since the inception of the vendors on the forums. :D

good points boostisgood, and those who have been here for a while know about this. new comers don't understand what it's like. sometimes your best bet is to go to a custom shop and have things done there. short time, probably less money. it's hard to **** up an fmic so any shop can make that, no need to wait forever for one. hard pipes, again, a lot of shops can make that. then it's up to the owner of the msp to research here and figure out where to go from there.

btw, corksport isn't going anywhere and is planning on releasing thier MSP FMIC kit soon.... i talked to them last week on the phone.

I wouldn't be so certain about anything corksport is releasing. I mean they have had things up in the past on their website, and said things to people directly over the phone or email and never went through with it (cold air intake, stock hardpipe replacement with bov, etc.).

man how many fmics do you need to chose from there are like 3-4 off hand i can think of plus you can go custom. you can get any part you want for a msp. use the search button.
