Looking to buy an MS3 - decent deal or not?

Looking to maybe getting an '08 Cosmic Blue MSP3 GT with 8,850 miles on it. Price quoted is $20,488 (OTD is $22,400). Decent deal or not?

Eh, I would spend the extra and get a new one! You cant get that Cosmic Blue any more and it is a pretty sweet color though.

KBB doesn't yet have MS3s in the 2008 list for used values. It put a 2007 at 22,xxx, (no navigation) so I would think it's probably a decent deal. You'd spend about another $5k to get a new one (assuming same options [read, GT], etc).

5k more than 20k? WOW! In DTX you can get a GT (no nav) for 23k and there are some 08.5's left here I know. 07 for 22,xxx, I got my 08 s for that. 23200 OTD.

Decent, but if you want a GT, get the '08.5-'09. Alcantara FTW.

I really don't like the piano black interior. The alcantara would be nice, but I can't really muster out another $3k - $4k. Plus, I really like the Cosmic Blue

$22k otd for a used 08? CB or not, you can get a brand new one for probably only $2k more. I got mine for $24,900 OTD for an 08.5gt and thats with californias ridiculous 8.25% tax... I guess it might be biased because I myself will never ever buy a used car (especially with the economy as it is, you as a buyer have more than enough leverage to negotiate with these car companies). 4-5 more months of payments for your own clean slate? I'll take that.

20k otd would be an awesome deal!
21k or a little higher otd would be a good deal.

but, i'm also the type who would not buy a used car, especially a sporty model. if i couldn't afford a new gt, i would get a new sport.

What are the differences between the '07 and '08 models? I found an '07 with low miles that's within driving distance. I know it's great vehicle for what you pay for, but I realize no car is perfect. Also, what are some of the drawbacks of the car? Anything to look for - such as tranny issues, rattles and creaking, stock tires, etc. What were the TSBs and recalls? Were they just for the '07s? Any extra info would be appreciated. In the meantime, I'll continue to do my own searching on the forum.
