Im having a hard time choosing between work wheels. I can either go with

work XD9
18 x 9 +38F /maybe a 10mm spacer
18 x 10 +38R /maybe a 5mm spacer

kinda like this

or try and squeeze 18 x 10 +38 all the way around with using the minimum spacers needed, like this

opinions please

i looked into those, but im shying away from a 5 spoke. Ive even considered going 17 x 9.5 +38 XD9s. Just because the 18s dont come in a 9.5 width, and the lip on the 17 is almost as big as the 18 x 10

I like the Works on the red Subie..sorry im not much help on this...I just can't picture a MS3 with a 9.5 in the rears without some major work back there!! How much pulling are you going to do??

17x9.5+38 is a good choice in my opinion.

Either of the Work wheels look good, plus they are a balla brand! LOL 17s would be interesting, but what do you think? Didn't you come from 19s? You might think they look small...

Ok, so I spoke to the distributer just now and have come to thid dilemma. I can go with
Xd9
18 x 9 +38 fronts w/ 45mm lip w/ 5mm spacer
18 x 10 +38 rear w/ 73mm lip
Or
17 x 9.5 +38 all around w/ 68mm lip

Yes, the 17 seems to be small to me too. That's what makes this choice hard. Fender work vs lower suspension mods. Ill be ordering this afternoon. Please post up your opinions/knowledge. Thanks

If youre going with x9, try to space it out to atleast +30 effectively. +38 is significantly less agressive than the other choices

the 9.5" width evens them out. Its a combo of offset/width that determins actual poke. Check out this site... www.willtheyfit.com . Here are some of size comparisons with the wheels ive had and ones im looking at buying

stock wheel
18 x 7 +52
poke 36.9mm, inset 140.9mm, diameter 650.7mm, tires used 215/45

rota torques
18 x 8 +35
poke 66.6mm, inset 136.6mm, diameter 637.2mm, tires used 225/40

axis hiros
19 x 8.5 +35
poke 73mm, inset 143mm, diameter 640.1mm, tires used 225/35

work xd9
17 x 9.5 +38
poke 82.7mm, inset 158.7mm, diameter 634.3mm, tires proposed 225/45 - diameter 619.8mm with 235/40 tires

work xd9
18 x 9 +30
poke 84.3mm, inset 144.3mm, diameter 637.2mm, tires proposed 225/40

ive seen people put 18 x 9.5 +38 on before, so 18 x 10 +38 isnt too much more, right???

work xd9
18 x 10 +38
poke 89mm, inset 165mm, diameter 245.2mm, proposed tires 235/40

and so onnnnnnnnn....use the site and then do the math. It will help you dial in exactly what you want

and whats keeping me from getting18 x 9" wide XD9s is the weak lip it has. They dont make it in an 18 x 9.5..weakkkkk

18 x 9 has a 45mm lip
18 x 10 has a 73mm lip
17 x 9.5 has a 68mm lip

18x10 +38 is about 6-7mm more poke than x9.5

I know that tony on wfc had 18x10+25 and that stuck out way too much. I would recommend x9.5 and go with something other than xd9s... 11r, cr-kai etc

strick buddy, you never seize to amaze me. I will be awaiting on the wheels to arrive for my wedding gift in 3 weeks :D

PM me like usual and let me know what wheels you decided on. I've got my wheels for sale :(
