Looking for low-end power

i was in the same search and still am...i have sri, header and catback and still lookin for low end power. depending on ya budget ya may just wanna look into a turbo kit. haha. but u posted this in the n/a section so your prolly not lookin for that kind of answer! i completely understand that. i think get yourself a header, udp, front awr engine mount and a set of cams and you should be decently impressed. it'll be better than stock, but if your like me you'll get adapted to it and want more.

Hey, I don't want to burst your bubble..but you drive an ES..They didn't make a 5-lug LX, especially not one with rear-disc brakes..Just thought you'd like to know.

yeah resetting the ecu does feel like poop to start off with, but gets better far quicker than no resetting the ecu.

but still, if you're really worried about low end power, get your car dyno'd with the cai and with the stock setup. i'm sure you'll be suprised that you only lost 1whp at most but gained a lot up top.

Someone please enlighten me on why resetting your ECU changes the performance, and then why driving it hard helps make it better. I have a MP3 and did not believe this to be true--I did not think the ECU could "learn" like that. To reset could you just unhook the battery, or do you have to use the OBDII scan tool?

how would u burst my bubble, haha? well according to the vin number and the title it's an lx, and according to the original owner. i don't know much about proteges, but that's what i've been told by the dealer, court house, original owner and a few others. but i've also heard that it has to be an es due to the same reasons and others...so i'm not for sure man. but u didn't bust my bubble. lol..worse thing i'd have to do is change my sig...lol

Actually, the power does feel like it's starting to come back. I noticed that I'm gradually revving lower to get me moving. Or maybe after I read your post I just imagined that. Either way, it feels like it's pretty much back to normal to me. Before I put on the intake I read a lot about resetting the ECU, but I didn't know it would take a while to return to normal afterwards. Thanks madhatter. By the way, have you heard the Dokken song "Maddest Hatter"?
