Live traffic updates?

I understand that, I am still trying to figure out of the sim card that is being discussed resides in the head unit. I am in contact with a dealer in the UK to purchase the live navigation box to see if the lives services work. If it is in the head unit it becomes a much more expensive proposition.

The U.S. navi don't have sim cards... Our live traffic runs off FM.
I understand that, I have been after this for a while, I am just taking it about to see if there is space for one. Either way, getting one for it if it did would be harder than getting the unit from the UK. Found a totaled '14 6, going to try and get my hands on it. for the LCD and the commander switch and harness.

So, if you don't mind me asking, even if you manage to get a SIM installed/inserted, what service would that be able to use for traffic updates here in the US?

See if the nicer trim pieces fit as well. Headunit surround, vent surrounds, and shifter trim. They have additional piano black and metallic finishes.

I do not see anymore piano black, it all looks the same with the exception of the vent closure wheels in the center stack.

Getting a little off topic here. Sorry. Check the navi surround and shifter surround for piano black trim along with metallic finish. The HVAC vents have additional metallic trim. The shifter surround probably won't fit given the subtle difference in shape/size.

I'm glad yours are still working, but mine are not, so I presume the issue has not been completely resolved.

I feel I must ask.....

Have you involved Tomtom in all of this, and if so what are their conclusions/findings?

If you have lost all live services you will have what looks like an umbrella on the display, bottom l/h side.

Hi
I involved TomTom and they suggested replacement of the head unit.
Was going to wait until my first service in October, Then hey it has been working for the last two weeks.
The umbrella is the give away, this means the unit is not connecting via the Vodafone sim card.

Well; mine has failed YET AGAIN!!!!

No live traffic, and the "umbrella" image lower left hand side of the screen.

I'm losing count as well as the will to live.

Assuming I have yet another head-unit, this (I think) will be number 5.

TomTom are on the case & I will update as & when.

Good grief, Mazda must be shaking their heads in disbelief...

Mazda doesn't know just yet.

TomTom are carrying out their own investigation as there is a complication which relates to sim-card identities before and after the last replacement. Sorry cannot go into detail just yet.

Of course Mazda will need to be involved, but I'm letting TomTom do their bit first.

Will update as & when.

Sort of an update.

Spoke to Mazda at length today, and they have admitted there is a problem. They went on to say their technicians are looking into it but at present there seems to be "No Fix"

So I've made all these visits to have the unit assessed then replaced, and have been in dispute with both Mazda & my dealership, only to learn at this stage there is no solution.

Regretfully Mazda customer service are not being very helpful. They tell me they are looking into the matter, and they will log a new case number, but will take 3 to 5 working days to get onto their system, what they don't tell me however is what they are going to do about it!

Next time I replace my car, I will go back to a stand-alone version.
