hi guys,sorry if im off topic but i thought this would be the place to ask since is surrounded by wise man. how many psi can the stock MSP handle from a
gt28rs, 440cc, and the haltech E6X?

10-12psi on a stock engine.

haltech doesn't change anything in that equation

Actually it does, it's the biggest factor. Timing (detonation) is what kills the stock bottom end. If you tune that out, boost galore! Joka1 ran 22psi on a stock block for a year because his tune was good.
 
what's the best way to tune out detonation? I just got my 7.25psi spring for my wastegate with an unmodified block on a 99 1.8L, with 440cc, high flow pump, and a spec 2 clutch (so it won't burn out). I'm going to have to start tuning it all as I get it back together.

Is the answer simply a clean map with good AF ratios?
 
You can have the best AF ratios in the world and still ping, it's all about your ignition timing. Too much and you'll kill your motor.
 
Stock timing at boost that low should not detonate with a good afr.

Do you have a base map to start with for those 440's?
 
I don't actually. I have only my maps with my stock injectors. Got one?
 
I have the old school dos F10A halfass tuned for stock injectors and fully tuned for 565's with 3bar map. Won't do you much good!

what happend after the year? Do you guys think 15Psi is fine
 
Welp, finally getting the car back together. Anyone got any help on modding my maps to deal with the 440cc (blue drop-ins from protegegarage.com) over stock injectors (280cc)? A map, or what to do to best give me a starting point?
 
Is it that simple? I haven't looked yet, haven't looked at the software for a long time, is there an easy modifier setting? or do I have to adjust the entire map?
 
When I tuned for my 565's after pulling around 60% or more from stock injection times I had to put some fuel back in the lower bars for idle and cruising up to about 0.
 
My ignition settings are exactly like PDHAudio83's now:

The car is smooth. We will see what this means as more testing goes on. The jury is still out.

alright so anybody kno what he did diff? he said he tryed that the 1st time and his car wouldnt start

im getting a haltech soon and hopefully i can use the prebuilt map or some of the maps you guys loaded up on here

i could use ^that map only if i had around the same mods right?
 
Look at the Haltech thread o nthe other forum. I've posted in great detail my setup to run sequential, it's all on there.
 
it says just a couple posts later, I'm pretty sure those 2's went to 1's, but read from the post where he put up that pic, and you'll see what he did. I forget the specifics, though.
