hey if i was to slip a fatter tire on the stock rims whats the max would you say? maybe like a 225? ours are 215 now and was wondering because when i get my exhaust and a few others things on in the spring i dont want.....i want to have less of a traction issue without a whole new rim set. possible or dont even?

p.s. im due for new tires in the spring thats why i ask also.

225 max, 235 would feel and work horribly. 225 is pushing it on a 7'' rim, I had one brands 225 work great on my old car, the next set of 225 I tried had a different shape and needed a much wider rime to support it. Check the tire brand you are considering rim size recomondations. Also to keep crisp handling try to be at least a 1/2'' wider than the reccomended minumum.

I just put Nitto NT555 225/40/r18s on my stock rims and they fit better than the original tire. The contact patch is larger and the sidewalls are shorter but they don't "balloon out" at all. I would prefer to have these on a 7.5" rim, but they do work out very well on the 7" as well.

So I assume you would say the op should try these out if he wants to use his stock 7"?

minus the million threads i maybe just didnt spot....thanks for the info. im going to take down the tire absolutamente has. give it a whirl. sweet guys, thanks.

absolute, I really like the nitto tire, glad it's working for you. Car definitely needs more traction and those are pretty sticky if I recall correct MSLou what brand of tire are you using please? and yes 32007 i'm looking for tires also. Mine are shot and I still have to purchase soon the weather is warming abit. If there was a way to stuff the 235/40 on that 7.0" wheel I'd be happy.
