this thread made me want to race even more than before

GIOwned thread got nothing on us :) LOL...

Hey... I know in one day at Gingerman nothing could touch me and I got my ass kicked all in the same day... all because I was in the groove and then was out of it... when I was in it I was lapping everything on the track with ease... when I was out of it... I could barely hold on enough to not get passed by stock civics.... so yeah... being in the groove and driver skill is SOOOO huge..

But frankly a beer sounds good... weee! :)

There are a lot of partsbin bits and pieces on the GT, but not what you suggest. The steering column is from a Focus. The vents are from a Cougar. But that's about all I can place. The chassis/frame is not only new, it's got ground breaking technology. The control arms are all new. The hubs are probably new, the brakes definitely are. Transmission is new. Seats, most of the interior. etc. etc... it's only the little inconsequential bits that are from other Fords.
..

Wanna make a little bet on this???

Acutally also its the focus's steering gears not just the column, the cougar's vents, the f150 lighting's engine recasted in foreged iron. the supercharger was stright up ripped from the svt's new f150 lighting project. The chasis and frame was stolen from the prototype car unchanged (acutally it was almost a stright lefted from the gt40). the L control arms were designed new yes to isolate lateral forces. The brakes were outsourced to Brembo whom told the ford engineered they used similar spec as an existing Ferrari model. The transmission is the f150's tranny with different gear ratio and harden gears. the only other thing i can think of that was mentioned to be innovative in design was the fuel tank and the dry sump oil system. The fuel tank is a one piece sealed tank design that sits in teh center of the car below shifter this was a first for ford design. It help the Ford GT achieve 50/50 balance even with full fuel. The dry sump oil system was a adopted design from the ford race cars. Even the boost gauge was a cheap electical autometer ultralite gauge. the ford GT was a parts car. It may not be all ford parts but everyone who worked on this car used an existing piece of adopation of an existing piece due to the limited design and testing time. IIRC it was just under 2 years(most car takes 4-5 years to design).

As for the cheap shots about my name if u want to backup ur statements please do. Otherwise feel free to let a guy named noclue119 show u up.

Oh and also you really want I'll even give you the email address of the guest speaker that was at GA Tech member of the ford gt design team and you ask him yourself.

*edit*
BTW the fuel tank is called "ship-in-a-bottle"
