Going from the stock protege 5 Wheels to say a Rota Slipstream wheel, how much of a difference in acceleration and handling would it make?

Due to the lighter weight what would be expected besides good looks? ;)

minimal - you wont notice it. maybe 0.2seconds over a 1/4 mile if you're lucky. you'd get more benefit by making your tires 45 series instead of the 50 you have (205/50 has a greater rolling diameter than 195/50 stockies, 205/45 has less than stock, 215/45 is about the same)

yep - would be a perfect combo.

eventually i wanna get racing hart evolution CP035 (i think those are the ones) wheels. lightest 16x7 wheel i have found. only something like 10lbs.

all of their Dominator series are rotary forged and come in 5x4.5 but they are +42 offset only

they are all ULTRA light too

Lightweight Wheels

Anything that reduces unsprung weight improves handling so lighter wheels should help in this regard. If lightness is your main concern, you might want to check out www.enkei.com

Look at the Enkei RPF1, 16 x 7", 5 x 114.3, +43 mm offset wheel. Although it's a cast wheel, it only weighs 13.7 lbs because of its rim-rolled construction. It's expensive for a cast wheel but still much cheaper than a forged one. I would have bought it myself but it was a little outside my price range.

I like these! 17x7 15.4lbs
