Lift Gate Badge held on/in with adhesives or pins?

Hey all, I've got a 2024 CX-5 Carbon Turbo and I was wondering if anyone knew if the badges on the lift gate were held on/in with adhesives or pins? I’m considering de-badging the lift gate but I haven’t been able to get a straight answer on the lift gate badges. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

If you don't want to wait for others to reply, the best way to know without first removing the badges is to look for the OEM part numbers of the badges/emblems and then search for pictures using those part numbers. For example, I found the part number for the CX-5 emblem here. Then I did a Google search for "mazda KN0V-51-720" and found some listings that show the back of the emblem, which show that the C and X are pinned, but the hyphen and the 5 are not.

It is interesting they use pins. Many folks like to debadge these days and some makes, Porsche for example, allow customers to order the car without badging from the factory.

Thanks for the reply. Would you happen to know how difficult or easy it would be to get them off?

Yeah it is a bit off. I mean I guess most manufacturers assume the majority of people don’t care or pay attention to the badging but it’d be nice if Mazda gave us an option to opt out of factory badges
