license plate screws

Anyone know what type of screws (size/style) is needed for the second gen cx5? I bought course ones and they don't fit, so I'm assuming they need the machine style ones? Is there a particular size? I couldn't find the info in the owner's manual for some reason

Are you talking about front or rear? For gen-2 CX-5, I believe Mazda has provided a separate plate frame at front for those states require front license plate with necessary screws included. The rear has no separate frame but the dealer should have those screws. You can always go back to your dealer and ask for those screws with correct size.

Yeah those plate screws on gen-2 CX-5 should be machine / fine sized.

If your dealer is close by, I would hope that they give you screws for free.
