Lewis7789 MS6 GT build thread

I already got those, man. Remember all my transmission whine?

What do you mean? Does my driving scare you that much? I'll let you drive it once the new motor is broken in and tuned. I feel bad I haven't let you before but I am very protective of my baby and you are pretty rough on cars. ;)

Tis not an MS3 we're talking about... AWD beotches!

LOL. Had to.

I'll have to research what anyone with an MS6 and upgraded FSB have to say. Unfortunately, most of those kind of reviews are from hard parkers who just buy parts to make their parts list longer for bragging rights.

I've never upgraded a front sway bar before so I'm not sure how they feel. I upgraded the FSB on the P6 but alas, never got to see how it feels. I'll text Fez right now and see if he upgraded his.

You might bring back some understeer, but you also have to consider that the overall balance of the car would be different with bigger bars front and rear. It wouldn't be the same as it was stock.

Going to be hard to get an accurate review from someone else you have changed your spring rates with the coil overs as well which will affect the balance of the car.

If I were to venture a guess it would handle the same as it does now if you replace both front and rear bars wouldn't it?

Have you driven an ms3 at all? If youve driven one with the stock sway bars, next time my car isnt embarassingly dirty on the inside; you can take it for a spin. My sway bars are probably overkill at 32mm front and back, but im sure youd get sort of an idea of how itll be

You've autocrossed your car a couple times now Evan, how do you think the balance is?

Way too many variables in suspension setup to just go changing things without having a specific goal in mind. :)

This. Do you have to remove the engine to do the front (anti) sway bar? I'd say save the money and leave it alone until you think it's necessary. I haven't touched the bars on the RX-7 for this reason.

You probably have to remove the sub frame, like the MS3. But it would be an easier job is the engine is out, no?

If the car feels balanced now then leave it alone. All I can say is that my MS3 with Hotchkis bars felt much better, but yours will feel different once you have AWD again.

Yep yep

Yeah, I need to drop the front subframe to swap in a new FSB so I just figured while I have access to everything might as well do it then. But even in the current FWD mode it feels pretty good. Still a little understeer but it's still a heavy car and only FWD so that's to be expected. Maybe I'll just leave it alone. Worse case scenario I can always drop the front subframe and install one later on if I feel it's necessary.

Thanks for all the input, guys! Much appreciated. :)

AWWWW YEAH! I haz AWD again! I replaced the drivers side and everything seemed fine. Went to the passenger side and the sensor almost crumbled in my hands. Swapped them both out and no more warning lights on the dash (other than the one for my seats) and I can turn the DSC on/off. My GF got video of me doing a happy dance around the garage but I won't post it.

I'm so happy!!! $60 fix FTW!

Yep, just got home from auto-x with the rest of the crew, bummed you couldn't make it, buddy.

But car felt great. I had the DSC off for all 6 of my runs. Very little understeer now and I can get good hard launches, when I don't bog it down. I had a blast and nothing blew up or broke so I'm very happy. I'll post my results when they are available but I don't think there was much competition in my SM class. But I'm pretty sure Patrick and Evan #2 were faster than me. But that's the great thing about having all your friends out there running too, as soon as we grid up again we're all like "what was your time?". haha.

Looking forward to the 2nd Annual Corey Invitational August 25th. :)
