Dude...that new mod definitely isn't street legal HAHA! But I guess if you get pulled over, you can always just blow up the cop car.

Wow. Wes posted a link to my Facebook and I'm extremely flattered a car site used my car as an example. If you scroll down a bit you'll see Wes's video he made of my P5.

Of course, there are MUCH faster KL swapped Protege's, Protege5's and Mazdaspeed Protege's out there. But I'm still flattered and honored Wes's video was used as an example. :)

Oh whew! If Josh doesn't think they are "atrocious" then I can finally sleep tonight. Lulz. Just kidding around, guy.

How did you stereo build go today? Are you bumping mad beatz now, yO?

Oh no, the color is still atrocious on your car, but at least the size is ok. (yippy)

And yea, beatz up in da pfizzle fo sh0! Wrenching on the brakes tomorrow, then maybe a photo shoot. Yous can hang out if'in ya want to!

Hard. You should bring it over here. Ivan is putting on his rear sway bar and I've got some work for the P6 and Milly.

I don't have a passport so you come down here and bring that wicked racing seat with you. Best of luck with the welding, mate. I'm sure you'll do a good job and she'll be good as new, if not better. (2thumbs)

I didn't get anything done to the P6 today but I did get a couple hot laps done in the front yard...

Dude I love you're P5! Nice build! I was wondering which KL you had because I was looking around to see what they go for.

Thanks, man. I have the JDM KLDE from a Xedos9 or Eunos8. I got mine from eBay seller VTEC_Motors out of Canada though it doesn't look like they have any KLDE or KLZE's currently listed for sale. While people call the JDM curve neck KL a "ZE" it's really not. And I haven't found a curve neck with the KL31 cams. Only the straight neck JDM KL's are true "ZE"s with 30 more crank horse power (200) than the JDM KLDE (170). But both KL's have their pros and cons. Typically they go for about $700 plus shipping. Some come with the auto tranny (which you don't want anyway) and some come with extras (ECU, harness, etc) so just keep an eye out for one you like.

I got mine for $950 shipped to my shop (loading dock and forklift so it was $100 less that residential delivery) and am very happy with it. I thought it had a blown head gasket but everything checked out okay and it's been running like a top. I've got a lot of info on the swap in post #2 of this thread.

When I was doing my research I found these suppliers to be pretty good;
Sunrise
JDM Engine Corp
JDM Engine Depot
Osaka JDM Motors
But stay away from Tiger Japan. I've heard bad things about the motors people have gotten and a few cats have seen their shop in Texas first hand and said it was sketchy.

Just make sure you do lots of research, mate.

This may be a shock to you but my racing seat is really uncomfortable, just shuffling my car around the driveway with it is a chore :P

I tacked in one panel today, it didn't come out that great but at least it's strong enough that I can walk on that part of the floor again. In the process of doing that I found a couple more small holes that I need to patch up with some scrap metal pieces; my car is a mess. There's no way in hell yours can be that bad.

Where's the full fireproof race suit? And why isn't there a supercharger on that engine?!

Hey! I was wondering if you still have that GReddy exhaust? If so I was wondering if I could come and pick it up or something....

I've just got the axel back for it still hanging in the garage. You can have it but I don't think it's a direct bolt-in replacement for the stock cat back. It's designed for the GReddy cat-back. I was hoping it would bolt up to my CorkSport cat back but it doesn't. I was planning on asking Josh to weld in the muffler since it sounded soooo good but I'm happy with my CorkSport setup right now.

The bad news is one half of the flange is knicked up from me cutting it off with the grinder. And the muffler itself is painted black. But I'm sure you could sand off the paint and just weld in the muffle if you like. Let me know, no pressure of course.

edit- I can snap some pics tomorrow if you like.

Yeah that would be fine. I just don't like the stock muffler....

Well then you're welcome to it. Free of charge. Not sure if it's worth the drive from New York though but that's up to you. ;)

Well I might be going to Cleveland sometime this fall with my GF, so I could pick it up then. I'll let you know. Then I would just need to get new exhaust piping, right?
