Now you have me worried about my msp and what I might find

Well now I have a bit more back story, and I have to agree with you. Keep your good parts and haul the rest to the scrap yard for some Gatorade money.

I was going to sell my p5 for parts/rebuild. If a clean chassis can be found for less than a grand I might just keep it. Is there history of a p5 selling that cheap?

IMO, there's no way a legit clean chassis is out there for that cheap. You might think it's clean because there might not be rust actually creeping up on the outside, or if it's been half assed repaired just to make it look pretty for a quick sale and you don't notice because the average person has no clue about body work, but again...if it"s from the north, then I can guarantee it's rusting in all the places you can't see.

That's what I was thinking. Unless some dude just brought one up this year or something and then blew it up, I don't think there will be any clean ones in our back yard. You had to travel to get yours; I think it's time to buy a diesel tow rig and a car hauler and go search the south!

Evan why don't you just repair the body rust, get in on the Matte silver wrap so the body isnt exposed to rust again, then replace all bolts and nuts. Easier and cheaper no? But if you insist ill buy body panels from you...

**** dealing with rust dude. If rust if visible on the surface, that means there's a lot of s*** you're not seeing. If you're going to do a project car, why not start with a clean slate that you don't have to worry about an unnecessary amount of dicking around.

I only make $37k a year, guys... lulz.

I'm working really hard on buying Josh's P5 and he's working with me so keep your fingers crossed. The plan is to have his red P5 for the project car and my silver P5 for my DD. Dual P5's! Muhaha!

don't know if it helps but there are things I need/want that one of the 2 p5's might have that could put some cash in the pot. Plus this way it's not a mad rush to swap/install everything

i dont think awd is really better... for off road or bad weather yea, for racing purposes no

if it's a standing start, and maybe some traction in the corners awd but overall i agree rwd would be better, less weight and less hp loss to the wheels

high5high5high5high5high5high5!!!!!!!!!

I really hope this works out, then all 3 parties would be happy! Kevin would have a MS6, I'd have a 6 wagon, and you'd have dual P5's! Plus, I'll be able to sleep better at night knowing my car was in good hands and will be for probably the rest of it's life, instead of being destined for the auction with an unknown fate after that, like my Colorado. I wonder what she's up to now...:(

Ironically it's for sale so I can buy Josh's. lulz

$4,500 if you guys know anyone who is interested. New motor, new tranny and lots of other new parts and you know I do a good job. :)

if this has truly become a project car why not convert to rwd and make even more awesome??

I suggested we should go in on a tube bender and make a tube P5 chassis and drop a 2JZ in it and rwd it. Yes, I used rwd as a verb, but this is what I have in mind, except with a 2JZ instead of an SR20.
