Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

yeah so ive got a "funny" story....
So i went over my friends house to go celebrate his sisters birthday. I parked my car and went inside. 45 minutes later we went to pick her up from the school. I said ill take my car cuz i blocked my friend in. I go outside, my car is gone! i hit the lock button and find my car down his driveway across the street up the curb and half in the road and half on the sidewalk. lucky for me no damage, no scratches, wheel hop, no need of alignment, not a single part of the curb his my car except the 2 back wheels. I found out i didnt have the car all the way in gear, i didnt pull up hard on the ebrake cuz his driveway is flat and then it goes into a slope. so my car needs a sticker "driver required" for my window now. my friend snapped a quick picture of it too....

Thank man! I am still trying to figure out everything. Like ISO and aperture and all that s***. But my pics still come out grainy! Idk waht to do.

If it's a P&S, there's no real way for a picture to come out clear at a higher ISO than whatever is default.
The higher the ISO, the more grainy a picture will be. With a P&S, using even 800 ISO is useless because the picture will turn to s***.
I don't exactly remember the technicalities of it all, but the sensors for any and all point and shoots (including the highest end P&S you can find) just aren't up to par with even the lowest grade DSLR.
The smaller the aperture, the less light will be exposed through the lens, as aperture is how big or small the opening of the shutter blades is.
Generally, the smaller, the more fine and focused everything will be, but will require a much shorter shutter speed because there's less exposure.

Yeah its a point and shoot, 12.2 megapixels i believe, and I kinda want a dslr, but i dont think i have used this camera to all of its abilities. I think I need a professional to show me how everything works and such. But thanks for the advice!

A professional would pick it up and be like.... "wtf is this!" and tell you to get a DSLR.

DSLR's are actually pretty easy to get the hang of and even on full auto, my pics came out 10x better than they where with my Sony.

You're more than welcome!

Hahah. Yeah. I can't stand to use my P&S. I don't actually have any gear that I can call my own, unfortunately.
The way I learned, I borrowed my friend's Canon 40D for a little over a few months, messing around with it, and then finally getting the hang of it, taking pictures of everything with different settings just to see how they come out.
But taking good pictures that you yourself will be satisfied with is almost impossible. Lol.

xmazdax youre doing well for the camera you have...Its got a lot of the manual controls like the dslrs have, I believe it allows you to shoot in raw mode so you can open it up in photoshop and really tweak it.

Reality is youre shooting in lower light so your shots will be grainy without a big image sensor dslr...the fuji's work awesome outside in daylight, dusk is much trickier. Its still a good camera and its more than a point and shoot, but slightly less than a dslr so its in an odd category of its own (I sold min for 30 bucks less than I paid for it after having it over a year...good purchase for me I enjoyed it). My old s1000fd pics are here (basically same camera but 10mp) http://www.flickr.com/photos/thegreatjonashley/sets/72157625852766064/ (no car pics though)

Wow dude, those look great! Maybe i will stick with my camera for a little longer and see how much I can get out of it.

Its a cheap olympus e-410 with a 14-42 lens and a 40-150 lens.

Paid 250 on craigslist, they are super cheap used everywhere. Local to me on craigslist right now as the nicer pro version the 520 for sale for 170 dollars which is nuts.

If I were to buy again though I would have to get a nikon (bought a nikon d3000 for the wife), mainly because the lens are so cheap for nikon and available...and really thats where the fun begins for wide angles \potraits etc.

Lets keep the thread going with me in my Autocross stickers (the I SUCK on the back so people know im serious).

Agreed! I've been thinking about blacking out my emblems. Maybe I will in the spring.
