Hey guys...

Abilor knows me well. (I'm sure there are other guys on here that like ATR as much as we do, but I'm new to this forum)

I'd be happy to help ANYONE (noob's included) with tuning q's... and if I don't know the answer, I'll help you find it.

I can vouch for finkle (and Abilor);

And if my effing fuel internals ever get here I've got some KR we need to tune out... :)

I'll get an updated log. I was hoping to have at least itv22's and a RP on this brotch by now so was going to just adjust tune for all of that. buuuut so far none of that happened so I was just being lazy and not addressing it haha. Let me get an updated log and we'll go from there. It doesn't look like I'm getting any parts any time soon...

Are you using the latest BT stuff from Cobb (still in Beta, I think) or would still be with the old ATR/firmware? If new BT stuff, I'll need to get all that crap and request the new ATR...i think. I haven't actually read a full post on that because I'm still in tantrum mode regarding getting parts lol

I'm pretty familiar with both now. We can use either versions of ATR. I was logging and using the new ATR on my car for the majority of the weekend.

If you are comfortable using ATR, it is as simple as posting some logs, and I'll create some screen shots, log repeat. LOL.

I'll keep an eye on this thread.

You can always revert back to OTS timing tables when you get your itv22's installed.

Just an FYI - it will be a while before I get a log. My wife and I car pool and we are taking her jeep this week. Plus...I'm really considering buying a CNT TBE (based on the fact that I will actually get my KMD internals)...if not TBE at least the DP (catted). So damn tempting...but I'm also putting a fence up in the back-yard so a TBE shouldn't be in the budget...but what's another 700 dollars haha.

ok this is kind of a general question. i tried searching for some of these most i found on some threads some none at all. im hoping we can get these info in one thread.. i would like to ask whats the normal or stock parameters.

IAT
BAT
WGDC%
BOOST/VAC
LFTF (IDLE)
LFTF (WOT)
MAP VOLT
MAF
ENGINE LOAD
SPARK ADVANCE

hope somebody can chime in with the "normal value"

I need a tune bad. I have a full 3" straight pipe w/ corksport catless downpipe, Cobb inlet/intake, cp-e fuel pump, step colder plugs, forge bpv and I'm running stage two on the Cobb (just to be on the safer side, till a good custom tune, but I'm getting spikes off 23lbs and running a lil rich.

Sorry this is probably a very noob question curious to if I can tune the stock ecu by getting it flashed without an accessport(on top of that I've only found one place in AZ that will even touch my speed3 but they said I would have to have a Cobb access port) just ordered a Dp and TIP so I'll be running TBE, CAI, turbo smarts dual port Bov, and TIP(dunno how much all that matters still not used to having a turboed car) as well as if I had my car tuned on the Cobb AP would I be driving with it plugged in at all times or is it more of a "get tuned download the maps, unplug and you're good to go" because in that case I might be able I get a friends buddy to let me use his off his speed3. Sorry for how ridiculous these questions are just never used these things before

Also I guess one more thing I should ask is if I even need to be tuned to run all that stuff or if I can run it on all and my car be completely fine

Dunno if you've considered this, but Cobb thought about that one boostfed. Once you use an AP to tune a car, until it's flashed to stock, you can't use that AP to flash a different car. People wouldn't buy these things if that was the case.

Before you put on your downpipe, you need to buy a hpfp or internals and you need to spend the money to buy an accessport. Running a downpipe on stock internals runs the risk of stock cdfp running low on pressure and potentially causing major issues. Accessport, well, allows you to tune properly as well as datalog and check for issues.

Modding isn't a cheap hobby, and if you don't do it right, s*** blows up. Just FYI, the MZR is not a cheap motor to replace, so I wouldn't go about 'testing' things to see if you can get by without spending the money ;)

I figured as much but still worth a try to ask if that was the case I have never had to use an accessport before sorry.

On the other hand I figured I was going to have to buy an accessport so I'm waiting until Friday and gonna order one. But chimmike obviously as you stated above says I need new internals then as well before running my DP can I safely tune with the accessport to run on that DP until I buy internals?

I understand it's an exspensive hobby here mister and I know I'm gonna have to buy things to make the car run properly and safely. What I was trying to do was figure out a temporary solution to my problem cuz those parts are almost in and wouldn't have mind putting them on and obviously won't if it's unsafe just saying seen a lot of people sigs with way more parts on their speeds and no internals just tuned and seem to never have a problem.

I installed a cobb intake and it made my fuel trims run really bad so i bought the hypertech and things are fine. It is best to get a tune when modding, plus the car is much more enjoyable. As far as needing to do internals with these upgrades you may be ok then again you may not. You will need a way to monitor things thats for sure. I know msms3 has a downpipe and intake and he is ok on the fuel pressure side, granted he doesnt have a TIP i believe. Once you buy the accessport you can leave it plugged in all the time and monitor how things are running but like chimmike said it can only tune one car unless you unmarry it.

Well I figured something along those lines with the AP.
I'm just curious because I'm still learning about the car how I'd blow my motor with the bolt on of a Downpipe everyone seems to be saying that there is no way to run my car safely ... Mazdaspeeds stage 1 comes with a turbo back exhaust wouldn't I be running that basically just stage 2 with a inlet then? Sorry I am destroying this thread i feel like .

Would you have anything else modded exhaust wise other than the dp? If not no you wouldnt be turbo back becuase there are still cats in the exhaust. The stock exhaust flows fine though other than the downpipe. I will be adding a test pipe soon and i have removed the 1st and 2nd resonators, (strictly sound there), but the test pipe is just a straight pipe with flanges. I believe people claim it adds like 5hp but dont quote me on that.

i have the graddy ti-c exhaust and its the ATP full 3 inch catless DP so i would be running TBE correct?

If you have replaced all of the piping from the turbo back. Then that would be a turbo back. Does the Greddy exhaust replace the Cat back part of the exhaust or just the axle back?

its a catback exhaust and the ATP Full downpipe replaces my cat as well.... regardless wouldnt i still be safe driving on that and a Cobb TIP ? its after the turbo im not changing anything drastic that would really change my AFR i figured if anything would i start to run richer?

EDIT: along with my currently mods... considering the fact im only really running bolt ons wouldnt i be fine?

It really depends how long you plan on running without a tune man. That is a lot of change for the car without a proper tune. You have to figure you are pulling in a lot more air already with a cai and adding a TIP and then pushing out more. Honestly to be safe i would wait to get a tune, that is if it were me. Like i said before my cobb intake alone made my fuel trims run lean.
