LED side mirror - or...

For those of us in Canada or US without the turn signals on the side mirror

I found a chrome plated product at my local Canadian Tire (auto & home supply store) that is supposed to be an LED windshield washer nozzle replacement. With a bit of modifying it fits quite well on the chrome trim strip by the side mirrors.

The wiring was much easier than trying to get into the side mirrors, and it gives off a pretty good 180 beam

Hey, really ???. Sure it may not be OEM, but it was the best of a number of workarounds.

1. Replace side mirrors
2. Add LED strip to mirrors (product available but wiring more difficult)
3. Make front side marker blink (easy, but still hard to see from side)
4. Add side marker light (usually involves drilling body panel holes)

It sits pretty flush. 60,000mcd, 0.1A is really bright for its size

I like the concept like i said but I don't dude it just to me doesnt sit right with the car. hard to explain but it reminds of the ol days if your antenna busted make your own antenna with aluminum foil and such. I made a post in the market place I have this company willing to make a protype led replica like the japan one I just emailed him measurements pics based on my car.

Never-mind Int3grity, he's just jealous that you came up with this idea and he didn't.

My hat's off to you for your ing3nuity. Way to go! (bow)

I need auto spell check enabled in here LOL
You can't bash this guy for trying thats what counts
trial and error some people might like what he did
my opinion might differ from others I just ain't feeling the
Wiper LED used as a turn signal seems tacky

He could've gone with one of these maybe near the fog light area

and for turn signal maybe flat led flexi strip

Ok, fair enough - it was a wiper LED when I started. I drilled out the wiper nozzle to allow for rear facing and front facing lamps. The front has a lens giving a diffused arc for the front quarter. Yellow matches the turn signal colouring front & rear, I'm not a big fan of the red rear turn signals other cars have.

The chrome looks identical to the trim plate, and it's only about 1.5" long anyway. There were some LED strips available, but I wanted something unobtrusive, and everything has mounting issues - unless you want to drill holes. I like the idea of the front fog light LED. Do you see that being turned on with the fog light or separate ?

okay, it was an original thought, but it still looks like someone stuck those riceboy windshield washer sprayers on their side view mirrors. oh wait, that basically is what happened.
