For those that have leather seats in their cars, I am curious how they have held up. I would really like to know from folks that have the Mazda 3, but anyone with older protege's would be good as well. I am considering this as an option when I get my next mazda down the road. (rei)

My leather is holding up ok so far. I condition it often and try to keep it out of the sun. The upper rear cushion will not hold up if exposed to the sun every day. Tinted windows would help.

The seats are also not completely leather. Only the surfaces that you sit on are leather, everything else is vynl. Conditioning and tinted windows would help as said above. When I get my 3 I am going to get cloth and have leather custom installed. The extra price is usually worth it, as long as it is a quality installation.

The leather is holding up well. If you have a little extra money, I would go aftermarket. Definitely tint the windows. I only got the leather because the car was the only one on the lot that had everything else I wanted. The leather is not as nice as the leather in my G35 Coupe.

The leather in my 3 has held up very, very well. I've had my 3 since February and I live in Miami, without tinted windows. I haven't gotten around to doing it yet. And my 3 gets a lot of use. I drive more than 500 miles per week with kids in it at least 4 days out of the week.

about 200 bux (CAD) depends where you go and what kind of film you ask for.. (premium/metallic.. etc)

Window tint?

Mine cost around 250.00 ( which is high ), but has held up flawlessly for more than 4 years now. Not even a wrinkle.

As for the leather seats, thanks for the tip. I had no idea that only the parts you sit on are so covered. I wonder if they're worth it in the long run, though they would be a lot easier to clean than cloth.
