leather help

Are you referring to an indentation on the back seats?

I have these after folding my rear seatbacks down for even short periods of time...they never seem to totally go away, but just get a little better with time.

Mine does the same. It takes awhile before it goes back to normal. How's your driver seat? Mine is all wrinkled and its only been 7 months.

Mine is still fine after 9,xxx miles. I did fall for the environmental package when I bought the car, though...supposedly the leather should look like new for 3 years or the dealer will replace or repair it.

Is that documented anywhere that the dealer will replace/repair the leather? I've never heard that before.

Find a product called "Hyde Food". It's a miracle worker for making leather nice and soft and plush again.

As far as the indentations...I have the dealer-installed Katskinz (sp?) leather, and it does the same thing in the back. It's been 6 months and you can still see the indentations...but they're getting better.

when you fold your seats down.. use your floor mats to protect your seats from the getting dents from whatever it is that causes them. thats what my dealer told me when i bought the car. before i bought the car.. there were dents on the seat, and i called them on it. their response.. "we'll pass a hair dryer over it and it should pop out in 5 minutes", but obviously.. it doesnt work like that so they had to find a p5 without dents in the seats and do a swap. but thats just me.. picky as hell over my p5 [just like the rest of you].

it wasn't from folding down the seats, it was from somthing that was on the seat (not sure what)

Good idea - I'll try that next time.

jonlong: I'll look for documentation of that, but I'm sure I signed a contract stating that there is a warranty. The package I bought was through an outside (at least I think outside) contractor, but it was done at the dealer (I'm sure they get a kickback). The package included a sealant on the both the leather and the paint.

Basically, I should not have to wax the car or treat the leather for 3 (maybe 4 years) b/c of the treatment applied. If I can find out more info on it, I'll let you know. I'm thinking it cost between $300 and $400.

I was skeptical at first, but the finance guy at the dealer is someone I trust as I worked with him when I bought a Honda. He was the one that convinced me to do it.

LOL, I bought the same BS stuff. They screwed it up and I got my money back. The problem I saw with the warranty for all that stuff is that I never got any documentation on maintaining the leather and paint (when to reapply stuff)

You think folding the seats is bad, try having baby seats strapped down tight for 9 months. Talk about some indentations. And my bony ass sitting in the drivers seat for 3 hours at a time daily. My poor leather!

I was told that I would not have to maintain the leather (or wax), but yeah...probably BS. Relative to the sticker price of $20,000+ I just figured what the hell, $300 is worth a try.

BTW, if you need help getting rid of that bony ass, get married. Worked for me :D

My son's seat is beating the crap out of my seats. I use the LATCH system for his forward-facing seat. Even though I have a pad for underneath and behind it, it's not tall enough, so I have dents in the seatback and the center strap makes a nice indentation under the headrest.

Oh well, I'd rather have the seat look bad, than him not be protected.
