Leather Console Cover

I used to have a Chrysler 300C and belonged to a forum for the car like here. The Chrysler has a console cover like ours with a hard shell, and a vendor over there covered them in leather with your choice in colors and stitching color. I contacted him and had my CX-7 done in black leather with matching stitching. I wanted him originally to cover it in the GT seat stripe material but I think it was difficult without him seeing it in person (I didn't want to ask him to visit his nearest Mazda dealer).

He can do it for you, or send you the leather cover, optional foam padding and instructions. It seemed difficult for me and opted to have it done by him. The cost isn't cheap but it looks really sweet and my Chrysler cover was excellent too. He sent me the finished product pics today and I'll post the cover in my car when I receive it in the next few days.

This is the pricing info as I cut and pasted the email. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post his website link here. If not, I can send it by PM.

Chris:
Your lid is done, here is the payment request. It ended up taking a bit more time to install so if you are asking anyone on a forum I would estimate $50 for installation as it is more challenging than the Chrysler ones. They will be $65 plus padding ($5), installation ($50) and shipping ($15.95). If there is enough interest we may purchase a core to use as well. We also offer custom embroidery as well...

Removing the console cover is easy and I can provide instructions if anyone is interested.

in my car...

It's a little too forward because of the mounting bracket in the rear is spring loaded pushing the cover forward (I haven't re-installed it yet). The stitching looks slightly funky in the last 2 pics from the sunlight glare but the cover actually looks terrific.

That looks great and I'm sure is a ton softer than the hard factory plastic. I'm definitely interested, I may go take mine off and see how hard it looks to remove the cover & install his if I could do it myself. If not how long did it take from shipping to when you got it back ready to re-install?

1 week. Personally, I think the $50 installation charge is well worth it. He said it was a bit harder than my Chrysler and I wonder if the release and lock have anything to do with it? It looks like the car came with a leather padded cover. I can PM you with his website and name if you're interested.

it is nice Chris. looks professional and better than OEM. Ask if they can offer grp buy discounts and maybe I will bite. Hoping the price around $100 shipped will be feasible.

On a side note, man, did you watch the match between my White Sox vs your Indians? 8th inning was crazy. We should have scored but the umpires are either sleeping or are from the tribe LOL

Thanks for the compliment. I didn't see the home opener and was expecting it to rain out.

I'll send him an email.

Thanks for getting this going and being the point man, Chris, if he's interested in a group buy count me in, and if not probably still count me in. ;)

Received an email back today. Looks like $10 off with 10 or more people. The other forum members may join too as many are members here also....I'll post this over there as well.

Chris:
If you think we can put together a 10+ order I'll definitely discount
the
cover and padding 15%, 15+ = 20%, we do not discount our labor... Let
me
know

Count me in. Chris in your first post is this quote "Removing the console cover is easy and I can provide instructions if anyone is interested." from him or from you? I guess I'd be curious to see the instructions if possible to decide if I want to try it myself or not?

Coltrane....I think you misunderstood me. It's easy to remove the cover from the center console in the car. I didn't mean removing the hard plastic from the cover itself. I personally wouldn't want to try and install the leather cover on the lid myself.
