LCD screen in dash for IPOD

Does the main screen on drive and play kit have more than one stand for mounting. I am not sure I want to cut that piece so I was wondering if I could mount the screen in that same place without cutting. Is there a stand that would allow that or is it only meant to be put on the dash. Thanks, maybe I will just cut that piece I haven't decided yet.

Has anyone found out if the piece can just be ordered from Mazda? I know the non-Mazdaspeed 3s have the same piece, just black (at least on my past roommate's 05.

Just called the dealership and you can order it, but its $637.00. WTF you have to be kidding me, I don't know if I want to risk ******* up that piece if it costs that much.

637 dollars.. has got to be the entire radio If you're that worried I'd search around at a junkyard for a 3 and grab the panel from it... or search for one on ebay

The DnP screen comes with a little stand/mount. Look in THIS for pictures from another member's install.

dread, I'm nearly certain that you can get that piece without buying a whole new stereo. And $637!? I was quoted no more than $475ish for a 6CD/Mp3 player from Jason at www.onlinemazdaparts.com, so I can't imagine how much they're marking up that HU to get that price.

That's the thing. onlinemazdaparts is based out of Montgomery Mazda in Charlotte, NC. It's still a dealership, just one not trying to rip you off.

I still want to know if that stand can be mounted on the screen so that it points backwards instead of down. Can anyone who has one chime in.

yo, seriously, this is SLICK!!! i dont even have an ipod, but i just got a maz3, and im ready to buy this FIRST, get it flushed in, and then buy the phattest ipod i can because i can hook it up. lmao!
