Which ones do you guys use..... Valentine 1, Escort, jammers etc? Have they been successful for you? Thanks in advance..... I'm sick of driving around paranoid that the pigs are gonna pull me over .... any advance warning would be great.... (MA highways suck btw).

I like the V1, although Escort makes several outstanding units. That said, a detector is merely one tool in your arsenal; you also have to use your eyes and your brain in order to successfully avoid being ticketed

I've been a fan of Beltronics for a while now. We were just on a road trip this weekend. My RX-65 spotted the bears long before it could be an issue.

I've always wanted one of the nicer, high end units like the V1, but never could find the spare cash all at once to pull the trigger. I run a cheap used Cobra & rely on my own common sense & keeping a sharp eye out more than anything else. The Cobra is mostly there to tell me when I'm about to get cited after not paying close enough attention.

As for jammers, I've never seen any unbiased testing that says any of them work well enough to place your faith in them. So I wouldn't waste my cash on them at all.

I have a V1, going from a beltronics top of the line. The arrows are the s***. It is very sensitive, and ran them side by side and the V1 is better long range. That said, laser goes off to let you know you've been hit. Cant save you when they're just pulling the trigger from 200' away.

V1 but really don't use it

I have a V1, but honestly, hardly use it. Laser is near 95% of what I see in Ohio and the best way to avoid tickets is to be alert, know "how to speed" and most of all, watch the cars ahead of you. especially on roads that aren't straight. If you have 2-3-4 cars in front of you, just watch. At least 1 of them will hit the brakes. Just know how to read traffic. I've been driving the same as always and yet to get nailed.

Thanks for the input guys.....
Of late I have been sulking because I don't feel like I ever get to unlock the potential of this car.
I play it smart on the roads although I recently made a stupid mistake and unfortunately the pig was right there (trying to get ahead of a damn rig in the left lane of a two lane off ramp). A detector would not of helped.
Does anyone here autocross their car here? I've been recently thinking about doing that to have some fun with the car.

+1 to the off road fun

i use the greatest anti-cop device known to man....the speedo

Haha me too, like I have said before, when I used a radar detector, its the only time I have gotten tickets. But that was when I was 17-18 so that plays a part in it too...

I was cruising to Austin a few weeks ago doing about 85 on 290, in traffic. Coming up to the top of a hill, thecar in front of me hit the brakes, so I hit my brakes a little, as I always do when coming to any rise in the road. Guy behind me figured he'd make a quick passing maneuver and got tagged by the cop at the top of the hill.

Gotta pay attention.

I have the Beltronics i940, seems to be the exact same as the escort 8500 if your on a budget and works well. If I had the money at the time I would have gotten the V1 though.

Get the new grill mounted one by Bel. It is rated very high and is affordable. Canadia cops will never know. They all seem to run VG2 cloaking now so they will never know. :-)

The Bel mentioned above is the same tech (Bel and Passport are the same company) as the 8500 and well worth the $150 price tag, way cheaper than any competitor in the range.
