Larger Injectors For Forced Induction

This thread will be dedicated to the FACTS of which larger injectors work for our Protege's. No off-topic chitter-chatter in here, just answers, and legitimate questions. Those who are running larger injectors post your specs, and how you installed them.

The stock injectors are 280cc injectors.

I know for a fact that the 2nd Gen S5 RX-7 (non-turbo) 460cc injectors will work on our cars WITH the proper engine management to control them. These injectors are longer, so you will have to double up your fuel rail spacers, and grind the lip away on one side of each of the spacers. You will then need to put the newly made flat surfaces together. Use black electrical tape. It may be a good idea to source longer bolts to screw in the fuel rail. They plug right into the stock harness plugs too! BONUS!!

Here are some pictures:

Yeah, I'm hoping some HiBoost folks will post info out here on the specs, and how they installed them. Also the WRX 440cc injectors.

I'm not sure where mine came from. I have 4 550cc injectors that Terry put in the car originally, and they fit perfect with no modifications whatsoever for the stock rail.

-do the WRX injectors plug into the stock harness?
-are they high or low impedence?
-are the stock injectors high or low impedence?
-can we use injectors of different types by swapping out plugs? or is there more -wiring involed because of the different resistance range?
-if the above is possible, can we just use some more standard, bosch lime green-top(440) injectors?

good post, btw

hmm, it would be nice to know exactly what injectors these are... I'm going to have to do some experimenting to find the perfect injectors for may car. I will probably end up with more flow than 550's though... but maybe that car has some aftermarket upgrades.... it would be nice to know.

440cc WRX injectors

I have the 440 wrx injectors with my AEM EMS. I will get back to you with any more info I have. I did not install them, but I have removed them and re-seated them properly since they were installed. If only I had access to a stock protege's fuel rail for reference, then I could explain exactly what the differences may be...

I have the RC440 cc injectors that came as an upgrade to the HiBoost kit. Install was easy if you are hand with a soldering iron or perfer crimps. They come with updated spacers to make up for the length difference. clip the stock harnesses and solder in the new ones provided. Polarity does not matter with these injectors. I am controlling them with the Haltec E6X. I wish I had better pictures.

this is a great example of cluttering the space on this thread. Does this thread ask or answer a question specific to this thread? no. Please don't do this, it makes me very angry.

My picture isn't showing up quite right... It was fine on my home PC but is dark as hell on my work PC... let me know if any of you guys can't see it and I'll repost it tonight... and here is additional info on that injector

Siemens Injector: 55lb/550cc Low Impedence, Chrysler part number: 4532586

...and RyanJayG's point was relevant. He asked for the specs of the injectors turf/nsn was posting about. Your post flaming him was the first off-topic post in the thread if you are worried about clutter, because that post is not injector-related. You also asked questions in this thread for more information, so please calm down, no need to be "very angry" at anyone. Back to topic everyone...

reposting turf/nsn's injector, brightened it up a bit.

Looking at that post I guess I didn't understand that Ryan was asking Turfburn a question, and I guess yeller didn't either. It was late, and I was delerious I guess. My appologies Ryan. Back to the facts.

now we are getting somewhere... thanks for the pic. I bet I might be able to track these down then. Maybe if someone can get ahold of Terry we could figure out what car they came out of. because if these are an aftermarket upgrade (or modification) of some stock injectors we could find a complete lineup of non-spacered, perfect drop in larger injectors. I'm going to go search everywhere I can now.

and everything is kosher. thanks guys.

I asked Terry about them a couple times and he doesn't have much info on them. I've alternately heard them called WRX injectors or Supra injectors etc. I know for sure they are a low impedance Siemens injector, and have a chrysler part number stamped into the side of them.

I did search on Siemens Deka injectors.. the 55 lb injectors appear to be the exact same thing I have, but slightly different top to them, and a different part number on the side, but otherwise the config is the same.
